Rear skid..."oh shit"...boom...These babies don't do well with a locked rear brake.(my 07 didn't anyway)

Yup...gear...looked at my helmet after I came to..and was on my feet.Nice 6" gash running from the upper rear part down to the bottom edge...right in the center,about 1/4 inch deep.If that'd been my head....

I've noticed something about my bikes...maybe it's just me...IDK...but haulin her downn from speed works very nicely.It's those last 100 feet or so that seem to be the most critical spot...something about the momentum and weight.IDK....It's not one of those things ya go and practice all the time But I'd never NOT use the rear.In conjuction with the front and shifting down...it's great.Or trailbraking.Or adjusting corner speed.Or taking off on an incline

Glad you're OK. I wouldn't report it. If you have Progressive, look into their disappearing deductible. A $1000 deductible decreases by $250 for every year you don't file a claim.

Thought that was nationwides thing with the disapearing deductible
