Here it sits...waiting
02/07/14 2:30 PM

Mods for this winter sitting on shelf waiting to be installed. Power commander 5, Autotune, quick shifter, Ignition Module, Speedohealer 4, chain, -front and +rear sprockets, swingarm extensions, SPIEGLER HANDLEBAR CONVERSION KIT, Hot bodies undertail, lowering dogbones, lower kickstand, new grips and a couple other things I have forgotten for now. SOOONNNNNN I hope.
Uhmmm ya, I moved it into the dining room from the garage when the wife went away for the weekend. They get over it eventually. Plus kind of cold this winter in the garage.

OK guys, the things I forgot to mention. New oil/K&N OIL FILTER, Tech Mount for GPS, Battery Doctor, Spark plugs, Fork Caps and SS brake lines front and back. Oppss and new tabs.

If there's no table to eat on, it's not a dining room.........it's a garage!

Exactly. When I got home from work on Monday, she was sitting in the living room. I was ready for battle but she played a good mind game waiting for about 25 minutes to say something. Then got up and walked to the dinning room, turned on the light and said "this is not a garage". Turned off the light and didn't talk to me for about 5 days. THERE IS A GOD. My bike inside and peace and quiet for a week!! Life is GOOD.

Silence is golden! Just because women can't go 5 minutes without yakking about something, they think the silent treatment is punishment!

Its only Feb and this maybe the best thread of the year already!

God I miss the north woods of MN and the long day of summer fishing on those great lakes. Every time I get back there I think about those great roads in the north woods and the classic old taverns with the Old Style signs out front and wish I could visit each one on the 14

Way to go Bopro!

First mod was to remove the flys. I honestly could not tell difference because I did them just before ridding season ended and at the same time I did my exhaust. If you are thinking about it don't be afraid!! I did it and is was about a 2 out of 10 on the difficulty scale. Biggest item was taking off all the bodywork and removing the gas tank. Here is a picture of the screwdriver I used, a new craftsman professional 47215. About a foot long. Just heated up the tip for 8-10 seconds with a standard propane tourch and out they came. 1 - heat tip of screwdriver 8-10 seconds. 2 - put tip on screw 8-10 seconds and then snap left to loosen them up. Carefull not to drop them past primary flys. DON'T GET EXCITED ABOUT THIS, JUST TAKE THE SCREWS OUT.

Second Mod was the exhaust. I watched EBAY for many months and finally scored a Orient Express full Titainium for a bid of $625 plus shipping around $680 total!! WOW. If you are looking for items, the great deals will show up. GOOD LUCK!! Exhaust that weighs about 12-13 pounds. Stock is around 40+-. Major difference in weight and looks. Difficulty about a 4 for me. Had some issues that they sent me the wrong slip-on but 10-12 emails and calls and problem was resolved. Fit about 8 out of 10, Finish is a 10! Only real tip would be to put it together before you install it then piece it together on the bike. Very tight fit I remember now. I also went with the high mount this time.

I thought I would be farther along on this but we are working a lot at work. Since Jan 27 to Feb 22 I will only have two days off. Good for the pocket book

Nice, now your using your wifes blanket chest as a work bench. While you're working on your bike you might as well dent in your gas tank and make room for your balls.lol

On what alg8er said, that silent treatment was more of a punishment for her than you.

Unfortunately motivation is still low for starting my project. Another week of temps starting below zero again. That will make a even 50 days this winter that temps have started out below zero here in Minneapolis, MN. My bike sits inside of this window... The snow is actually deeper than the 48 inches..

Made some progress last night. Ordered Zero Gravity Sport Touring Smoke Windscreen and temporarily put it on to see difference between stock. See pictures. Also got my Speedo heeler, PC5 and most of my autotuner done. Included a picture of where you can put the conectors through the frame if you want the PC5 under your seat. What a bitch to do but can be done. Go through where allen wrench point. Big connector first, straight in then turn 90degrees Hope this helps.
