When I got my connie seat I felt the same way... the first two days I had it my lower back was KILLING ME. However I figured that I would adjust so I stuck it out for a few more days, and once my body adjusted to the new angle with the slightly higher seat then it hasn't bothered me anymore whatsoever.
The added comfort I find outweighs the small increase in seat height, but that's me. The guy I bought it from purchased a Low-Gel Kawi seat for his Concours for $450 and sold me his stock seat for $150 shipped with less than 50 miles on it. I'm not sure who got the better deal but I'm sure happy. :)
