I've gotten a reply from a techno-forming shop saying they would be happy to quote a price to make windscreens out of high quality polycarbonite. We aren't to the stage of specifying thickness, I have to produce a RFQ (request for proposal/quote) first.
My idea is to take a Zero Gravity Sport Touring screen for a ZX14, and use it to create a mold. Then I'd mod the mold to increase the height and change the aspect ration slightly to make it more rigid. I'm thinking about 3-4 more inches of height.
I can get them to thermo-fuse an additional strip of polycarbonite around the edge of the screen and down into where it mounts to make it substantially more rigid.
My experience thus far with the Vario extension leads me to believe such a screen would be very stable and free of turbulence.
The question is, would anyone else want one? I'm willing to pay them for a one-off (basically 3 times the cost per unit compared to ordering, say, 6) because it would be superior to my current arrangement. I prefer a one piece solution.
