Okay, I live in Central Virginia. Any suggestions on a good 14 mechanic/tuner? It doesn't matter if I have to travel. Just need somebody who really knows what they're doing.

I would hang at the dealership. See customers pick up their bike. Ask if this is the first time or have they been going there for awhile?

Then you ask about the mechanics. One name keeps popping up around the back, might be a good chance they are satisfied with the work. I'd request that mechanic to pencil me in.

I would travel and play the same game at another dealership. Sort of have a technical question for the back but ask the parts guys first. They know the guys that would know or ask; who cranks out the work or whom be that person you keep reordering the new part the mechanic broke. Sort of sniff the joint out.

Guys with big tool boxes may be investing in the trade. That sometimes, I said, sometimes, there might be a mechanic behind the tools. >> Generically speaking is this post.
