Just curious here....probably a dumb question...BUT...have any of you ridden the new zx10R....AND the new zx14R?For any distance? If so....what can you say about the ride quality between the two....and shifting quality and all.Vibrations?

I haven't ridden either one. I'm sure the new 10r can't be nearly as good for touring as a well set up 14r.

I've only heard about guys who have the 1000GSXR...how they say..."you don't want to be going any long distances on this one"...I sat on a 10R last winter at the dealer's....it did feel smaller...like....no thanks. But the strange thing is...I believe the wheelbases and all are virtually the same as the new 14R.Not sure on that one...but I think they're VERY close.

Tell ya one thing...this 14R is smooth...extremely smooth and roomy.Yet compact feeling.

I also noticed something I thought was very interesting.IF I corner fast and hard...if I'm scrunched up at the tank...like I used to do with my 07...the frontend definitely feels a bit....how can I say it?....'has to be steered harder'...BUT....IF I push back and sit about mid seat....and lean in with it....she actually feels more secure and planted.THAT surprized me.IDK if it's just a head thing...or...if somehow the weight is more stabilized at that bike 'midpoint' there.I always 'before' have tried to get the weight kinda over the front while powering into or through and out of a corner. This bike...it seems to run the corners better by getting the rider weight back a bit...centered over the seat between front and rear.

Thinking on it now...I guess that shouldn't be surprising...she is...primarily...a drag bike.Always something new to learn...I LOVE this machine!

I was very surprised at how vibey the bars were on the ZX-10R my hands were numb by the end of the demo ride and that was the first bike I tested and the tachometer drove me insane flashing orange like a shift light but the shifting was not bad but not near as smooth as the ZX-14R but closer to the first gen 14 and of course on the ZX-10R I was cramped up like a ball of tinfoil and it felt like it took forever to get to the power from a standstill but once the RPM’s hit 9,500-10,000 you get what you expect but the ZX-14R is just smother in everything including suspension but remember I live in south Florida and you have the same chance of finding $100 as you do finding a good set of twistys!

you can tour ona sports bike, many do it, you will only be say on the bike until you empty a tank, which happens frequently on a sportsbike with luggage and hi motorway speeds, granted big milage days will test you, but it can be done no probs.

The thousands of folks whose jobs were saved and whose families are stable, well-fed and sheltered rather than broken, impoverished and ruined would probably LOVE to rename General Motors something like that.

In the 90s when I was welding there wasn't anyone covering my ass at layoff time. All I got was six weeks of 60% of my salary to find another job... which I did time and time again.

Good for you. You won't have to compete with all those people who still work there.

I know right? Most of those shops were UMWA or Steel workers. So not only did I get to bust my ass while the gray-beards read a novel in the shit house I paid for the privilege. I'll never work another union job... not unless we're starving and there's nothing else.

Thank Jebus for Scott Walker! Maybe this stranglehold organized labor has will start to fade away. It certainly has no place in the public sector.

Organized labor represents 10% of the workforce. How is that a stranglehold? Since 1970, median income (in 2012 dollars) has fallen from $32,000 per household to $29,000 while those at the top have seen their incomes rise 400%. How much more can the middle class give up until we live in The United States of Mexico?

Ford (remember the auto manufacturer that didn't need a bailout) is going through it's biggest expansion since WWII

in China.

Wal Mart, the richest corporation on the face of the earth, keeps some employee wages artificially low so they get subsidized by the government.

Americans are moving to India to get some of the jobs that have been exported.

With both foreign wars winding down, over a million veterans will soon be looking for work.

Fuck Scott Walker and his ilk.

The real crooks are in the corner offices of the banks and insurance companies. They looted trillions of dollars out of the economy here and the same in the rest of the world. The biggest crook in the most corrupt union couldn't hold a candle to them and they got a free pass. And they're laughing at people like you who think unions are the problem.

Here's a great article on what's happened to our economy and why those of us at the bottom sniping at each other is just what those at the top want:
