I like the tail (TW he S).

The side is always good and you can even get the suction cup to mount to the top fairing looking back at you.

I 'revised' mine(naturally, can't leave ANYTHING aloneLOL!)....bought the 'frame' mount deal....cut the mount tabs off the stock clear cam housing...epoxied em to the frame mount....really cuts down on the bulk of the stock housing. Not good however in the rain...but I don't do that anyway.(If it did rain...the cam would be in my pocket right quick;)

I think the 'weight' reduction does help with the vid quality...less enertia when hitting rough spots and such.

I know my pics show the standard housing...but it's been replaced a while back. Can easily mount it now on the helmet(chin)without the added weight and bulkiness when leaning forward.

Kevin,

Do the 3m mounts leave residue or take paint off of fairings? Curious and not willing to find out on my own..:)

Thanks,

Troy

I'm not Kevin...but I can say..NO..they won't damage paint when removing...just don't try to YANK em off...gotta pull (lift)steady on one corner to get it to start to release...then stay with it.Hairdryer before removing will help also.Saving the red backing paper can be reused when the mount is off the bike and being set aside....they can be reused several times before the stickyback weakens.

I had mine mounted to the windscreen, worked well until I got into a race with a busa and it decided to let go.

ohSH!T! I hope it was tethered?

I had mine stuck to the top fairing near the mirror mount and no problems. Didn't go over 130 though.

I've used the suction mount...AND the adhesive ones. They both work fine. With that adhesive one...you have to let it stay stuck on there for several hours initially.Push it on there and hold it for a minute or so..firmly against the surface. After that...let er sit.I've had mine up to 190...suction and adhesive both at different times...on the screen...on the nose...on the side fairing.Never came loose.

You have to consider the wind force and the arm length you're using. The cam will add some mass to the arm(s)...so I normally if attaching to the side with the suction mount reinforce the arm to the fairing(side covers tines)with some electrical tape..that works well just in case. The shorter the arm attachment...the better off...regardless of where you're mounting it.And that suction cup deal....it needs to be on a surface free of decal lines...or anything that might break the seal under the edge there.Mildly convex fairing areas work well. The adhesive mounts...you can put them virtually anywhere so long as the pad is fully contacting the surface.I wouldn't recommend applying those over any decals or custom flames or anything. That 3m adhesive sticks like a SOB....gotta peel that mount off REAL SLOW and carefully.Steady pressure starting at one corner and getting that lifted enough to get you finger under the mount to continue pulling away.SLOWLY!You can always use a hair dryer to soften up the stickyback...just don't melt yer bikeLOL!!!
