Wow thanks Ex, what a strange combination of fast sweepers and super tight kinks on the Arkansas Dragon. I'd be the first to tell you I don't really care for posted 10mph curves, the ones around here you can probably do at 30 mph or so but you're taking your life in your own hands due to farm trucks kicking off a lot of gravel at those speeds. It seems that the higher speed the corner is posted, the less likely to find fields of loose gravel in the turn. I can deal with the dispersed stuff in a fast corner where you can feel your front tire lifting slightly over the bigger chunks when you're leaned in but when the stuff is dense you can get a slider going...scary! If you watch the very end of that video, I tip toe through an intersection covered with gravel and kaleche from the construction across the street, I'm being overly cautious there, had way too many scary moments on stuff like that.
My dream road would be one 70-80 mph sweeper after another with a couple of 100 mph sweepers thrown in for good measure. Super high speed turns, 120 mph-140 mph are not really my cup of tea as really bad things can happen if LEO is lurking around the next bend. Don't even want to thing about that scenario.
If you would, Google Map to scale, FM 697 from Whitewright to Sherman Texas for me. That's probably my favorite road with the most turn density and shortest straights between corners and it is fast. It starts 22 miles from my house, so not one I go do during my lunch break, more of a weekend run up there. It's a favorite destination of the DFW area sportbike crowd. Thanks!
