120/60 vs 70's

I'm interested to see if anyone's had experiences in moving from the stock 70% aspect ratio to a 60?

All the best-

I never even thought about that but if the object is to lower the front to improve handling, you also would have a lower contact patch and that might be why nobody does it. Also a little less clearance for cornering and bumps.

Thanks Rook; I had only asked because one of the internet stores shipped me a 60 instead of the 70. I'm going to return it for the 70 so all is well.

Thanks again ;)

I guess I would, too. There is quite a dif in price between a 190/50 and a 190/55 and more for a 60. It might be $15-20 for a front. The 60 would be about 12 mm lower. I don't see how it could have as much outer tread. Personally, I don't need that on the front but I do need the clearance. 12 mm could make a big dif for scraping.

I ran 1 on a ZX11 for a while and almost ruined the rim with potholes and turning into parking lots. Just the slightest raised approach would flex the sidewall enough to feel the rim flange through the handlebars.

Notes to never ever try a 60 up front!
