slipper from c14
07/22/09 1:04 PM

Is anyone using or plan to use a slipper clutch from the c14. It has one stock and I wanted to know if it is a straight swap pack for pack or if for some reason the flywheel has a different gearing because the shaft drive system? Just seems that this wuld be great on our bikes even more so than the connie.I would love to put that pack in my 14. Food for thought ...xxx's

Man that would be a nice setup. If it works, it would be a great mod for the bike. I looked at the part #s for the two bikes and the clutch housing, and hub have the same part #s. So it may be as easy as swapping the whole assembly out. Please post details if you do it.

I have often wondered why they didn't put a slipper on the ZX14. I guess it didn't fit in the budget(?).

I can report the slipper clutch works well on my C14, although I have to go out of my way to get it to work as I always blip the throttle when changing down. It could come in handy on the track though (I haven't been on the track with a slipper before, so can only assume).

they didn't put a slipper clutch in it for drag racing purposes. Kawi knew they were building a bike for the 1/4 mile. The 08 busa has a slipper and many busa riders get a clutch mod to eliminate the slipper so you don't fry your clutch at the strip. but if your into corner carving and not really a drag race kind of guy then the slipper would be nice. here is a link to the brocks ultra clutch mod for the busa so you can see what I'm talking about

07 black and blue tear away 14, brock's parts: alien head full exhaust, front end strap, ceramic wheel bearing, brock's quick change lowering links. pulled flies, speedo healer, muzzys timing advancer, muzzys block off plates, K&N,+1 rear, pirelli and the list goes on but is classified from there.
