yeah...I'm new here

Growing up I always knew that I wanted a motorcycle. I've since owned a few in my 5 years of riding:

2005 Suzuki GS500 - nice daily rider
2008 Yamaha R6 - wonderful machine, I kept it all the way through owning the next few bikes because it hits the twisties so nicely
1982 Yamaha Virago - yeah...we aren't going to talk about that one.
1983 Honda Gold Wing 1100 - my old man bike done right with a ton of chrome
1983 Honda Shadow - Wrecked it and still sold it for a profit
1982 Suzuki GS1100E - the whale

and finally my new favorite,

2011 ZX14.

I got the ZX because fixing and selling old bikes was getting old and I was in the mood for something fresh. After a ton of researching I found the ZX would fit my needs - and even found one at an amazing price! I fell absolutely in love with her as soon as I picked her up. I love the smooth linear power she provides. She glides into the sweeping turns and and is a very comfortable ride.

I'll probably go back to fixing and selling old bikes in the winter when they are selling cheap because I really do enjoy making them run right again. Not to mention the extra money I make in profits is nice too. My next project may be bobbing out a 1981 Honda CB750, but who knows. Either way I'm happy with my winter purchase and can't wait until the summer when I can really see what she has to offer!

The whale? Whale come aboard then. Funny how that used bike profit kind of can't stay away from it, can you? You missed the h-d ride then. Big time profit. It's still paying dividends. I owned a whale. A decent style when they had their run. Be careful of the dohcndas. They burn valves, no rod/crank bearings left. Heads'up; Make sure it runs and check compression or eat that engine family's problem.

Yeah it was a whale to get into turns. It felt like I was riding a giant paperweight compared to the bikes of today. I'm trying to hone my skills before I try to fix up a Harley...and when I do fix up a Harley I'll probably just keep it. I've seen a few of the dohc motors fully apart (my cousin uses my garage as his garage to fix his bikes) and I've seen what some of the valves look like. they kinda make me uneasy.
