I hate that stupid thing. I placed black rubber insulating tape around it. Sound gone and still works. The 6R has the baby rattle located in the back where it can't be heard. Kind of a no brainer.

Thanks. It must just be us Canadians that hate the rattle! I'm in stage one of sound insulating this thing. I'm going for a ride tomorrow to test out the Dynamat that I stuck to it.

I have heard that they shortened up the bushings on the 08 so it would fit tighter and rattle less. You will notice the thing still has plenty of wiggle room. I don't remember the parts break down any more but as you can see from the photo, it is pretty simple. take the whole silver bracket off so you can get at both of the painted screws. You put a couple washers in there on each side so the rubber dampers gets compressed a little. That should stop the shaking and then just put the silver bracket back on the frame. I haven't noticed any rattle from mine since I put those washers in there.

Thanks Rook.
I will give that a shot, as the "Dynamat" failed to make any difference.
Next week I'm taking this bike on a 5000km trip down to California and back. The rattling might drive me CRAZY!
Let's hope the washers do the trick on my ride.

I did the washer thing, and it seems to help quite a bit. I just used a washer with a hole slight bigger than the bushing so it would compress the rubber a bit more. Since the washer was bigger, I had to grind down one side to fit.

Good pics. the washers I used were just cut out of a plastic bottle cap and shaped with sand papaer. Quite a bit of putzing for 2 washers but it worked fine.
