vinyl tank bra wanted

I noticed a ZX14 picture with a ZZR Tank Bra on it. Where do I get a full size tank bra?

I just looked through the pictures and VooDooDoo has it on his bike. Anybody know where to find it?

Have never seen a ZZR logo but Lockhart Phillips makes a plain one. I've had mine for 2 years and it's worked well. No problems with any stuff getting under it. Fits well. Not nearly as easy to remove as a magnetic but it really will protect more surface than anything else. The LP is pretty cheap too. About $30, I think.

Thanks Rook. That one is a 1/2 Bra. I have used both 1/2 and whole Bras many years back on early 1990s CBR1000F Bikes. I think Lockhart was where I got them before. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

Nice bra. Looks like it straps around the formans. There must be a couple loops that go under the seat hooks in back and another loop in the front that is held by the fastener on the top of the tank cover.

Will be a PITA to fill up with gas, though.

Rook, If this is like the ones I used 15 years ago, there is a hole in the center for fueling. Not an issue.

IF...I don't see any indication of a fuel cap hole, slidder. Hard to imagine they would omit that but I can't see it in the photo.

Voodoodo's bike is about half way down the page here. The bra on his bike looks like a slightly different design but it looks like it attaches the same way as the blue one posted above. There is a nylon strap that wraps around the forman as I thought. That is probably going to mark up the paint there. You could always polish that out with a scratch remover. Maybe sew some felt under the strap.

Also, I don't see that the bra is attached on the bottom edge any other place. I think the front bottom edge would flap against the tank. It looks like the bra in the pic above might have a black plastic to make it stiffer. You might be able to attach wedges there that fit under the forman like the Lockhart Phillips has.

Looks like an expensive bra. Nice looking but I would wait to get some testimonials before I spent more than $50.

I bought one from CIMA, paid extra 100 for no ZZR. Fits well, put 78,000 miles on my old ZX11 that had a Bagster tank cover. Well worth the money for long trips.

Slidderhd, I'm just gonna tack on to your thread here. I saw this 1/2 bra for a Gixxer that was also supposed to serve as tank grips. They only seem to make it for Suzuki. I was about to buy some Grip Stomp pads but just thought I'd ask. I've never had a tank bra but I just figured the leather would be slippery. Is there any grip to a regular tank bra? I wear leather in winter and levis in the summer.

This is a Bagster I find it great, squeeze the knees together around those bulb type lumps on the sides and it great. Has a large hole in the top, as big as the filler assembly for fuel. Had one of these on my last 2 bikes about 50,000klms , "expensive" around $450 bra and bag and $250 just for Bra.
Sliderhd did you get PM.

Ethin,
Is that some additional grip tape at the top of the foreman grill? I find that that is where I grip the tank about 1/2 the time.

The sac is held on by a strap and buckle around the steering head and the two straps at rear. If you look close you can see a small strap and clip were the silver meets the black at the grills on the left side picking up the grill bolt.
That black strip is black because early 14's had black grills 06 07 in 2008 models it was colour matched. Bagster products are made in France when I bought mine it was when there was a change over of stock models colours etc etc. Mine cam that way but should now be all silver . In Australia to get one you have to order local and then you are placed on the next order to France which can take 6 weeks, I couldn't send it back. Find it good to hold onto when riding , where you grip the grill I do the same and find it good.
No ZZR or ZX14 on it either, not sure what you get now if you order one.

Thanks Ethan. I guess I'm too much into instant gratification to wait 6 weeks for anything.LOL Enjoying summer down there?

If they are like the ones I use to use, they are made of vinyl and have a soft material underneath. They are a little stickier than the paint. Just don't use Armour All on it if you need grip. They are awesome and magnetic tank bags stick over it.

^^My LP bra is vinyl and I would say it has a lot more grip than the paint does. I even polish mine occasionally but i don't have any trouble with slipping off.

Bagster is a French company that makes high-quality (and high-priced) upholstered products such as the previously shown tank protector and custom seats. They are the vendor for the factory part-numbered C-14 Lo-Gel seat that yuu can order at any Kawasaki dealer.
