I looked at my check for tomorrow and because of the Trump and Republican income tax rate reduction I get a 2% raise. I immediately put it all into the 401K. In addition, the company I work for announced they were going to give everyone a yearly bonus of ~$1000 at the end of the year paid into the 401K also. What a great deal.

Making America Great Again

Thanks for the tax cut. Now that you've racked the deficit to the tune of an extra 1.7 Billion dollars, you can set about gutting Social Security and Medicare because there's "no money to pay for it". Meanwhile we're gearing up for the largest and most expensive military buildup in history. Maybe the Mexicans will pay for that right after they get the wall paid off.

You guys are all suckers. While you're chewing the tiny bone you've been thrown, you're being prepped for an even bigger bone and you won't like where they're gonna stick it. And by the time you figure it out, it'll be too late. Up north we call that stupid.

So yesterday I got my yearly performance review.

I work for a big high-tech company that is benefiting from the Trump reduction in the Corp tax rate. In the yrs past 1% was the "pool" raise, the average amount an employee could expect. With Obamacare driving the cost of health insurance up everyone was not only losing cash but going backwards in earnings and cash in pocket. My health insurance cost due to Obamacare went from ~$2K/yr to $4.5K/yr in only two yrs.

I ended up with a 3.25% raise - thank you very much!! (I did kick ass last yr too)

It's a good start and I expect it will continue for the foreseeable future, the company is hiring - big time!

As predicted by those with common sense and a memory of their history lessons, the big Trump tax cut is NOT going for increased worker wages, new plants or new jobs. The large corporations are already swimming in money and they haven't seen fit to turn any loose for wage increases and all the other empty promises. Instead, the bulk of the 1.5 TRILLION-dollar giveback is going for stock buybacks. For all you uneducated bumpkins, stock buybacks decrease the total number of shares and increase the value of the shares that are left. Since most CEOs and corporate execs are heavily invested in their own company's stock, this is nothing more than a huge windfall for the already rich at the expense of taxpayers (and future taxpayers!) that will NOT be amortized in our lifetimes.

Suckers.

So far I have received a 5.25% raise this year as a result of the tax cuts and the company expects to hire about 1000 new engineers this year in SoCal.
