I bought one of these about six years ago for my ZX-14 now am looking for someone who sells them. They are a low profile black plastic strip with three bright LEDs, blue or white and bolt on to your license plate with two tiny screws. I need this so I can get my new ZX-10R inspected.

I can't remember who I purchased them from last time, Gator something or other products in Florida if I remember correctly.

I found a great little LED strip for my plate light. It has 3M tape on the back side and weight is nothing. It`s made of a clear gel coating something like a tank pad with LED`s in it and is flexable you can roll it around your finger. I bought it at AutoZone for 8 bucks and comes in a few colors. I got bright white and it is so bright it lights up the ground behind my back tire. It is only about 3/16" tall and no screws. It has 6 Leds in the strip after installing I figured only 2 LED`s would be fine but it has 6 in each strip. You can even cut the strip with scissors the are 4 orange dots under the gel I just noticed that have a dotted line and a pair of scissors so it can be cut down to 3 LED`s. Oh it comes with 2 strips of 6 LED`s for 8 bucks so I have a spare set just in case. Trust me they are way bright! They also had long ones 18" for 25 bucks. Sorry for the blurry pics camera phone is acting up. I just ran out to the garage quick to take some pic`s to post. As a few great member`s once said,

Hey Rook, I originaly did a similar plate light but I used the plate LED bolts that are used as the actual plate bolts but mounted them vertical like yours. I used both instead of one but decided I did not like them. See red arrows in picture. That strip I found I like a lot better.

Those r some bright led's, definitely alot brighter than the led bolts. another good thing about the led strips is if u have a soldering iron and some xtra wire. After u cut were the scissor marks are you can take a razor and peel the gel back exposing the 2 orange dots, solder a wire to each dot, place a little clear silicone over the connections and cover with a piece of heat shrink and you can cut to shorter length's and have 2,3 or 4 lites instead of 1 depending on the length of the led strip.

Hey 1Miner sounds like you have them also or worked with them. They were in the auto store and they come wired to a small battery pack and a momentary button switch to try them out. I hit the button in the brightly lit store and could`nt believe how bright they are. Nice product with lots of possible use`s.

Yeah Black, they r some very versatile and bright leds, some of the best i have ever used, for the price, they r hard to beat. I took two of the longer strips(16in. i think) and cleaned the weld seam with alcohol that runs on the inside of the swingarm and layed one up each side of the wheel. they have beeen stuck there for over a year now and have had no problems with them running about 9000 miles. Those short ones work real well for lightening up the intake port too.
