***Price Lowered***2006 Candy Thunder Blue complete oem fairing + tank
11/11/17 2:07 PM

I don't think I'll ever use my original OEM Fairing again, so I decided to put it up here... I'm located in Sunnyvale/the Bay Area of northern California.

I have a complete 2006 Candy Thunder Blue (the best blue!) OEM fairing in very good condition. There are a couple spots that need a little touching up, but no cracks or anything. Just a scuff here or there and one little area that needs some filler/paint on the upper fairing (really not bad at all.. most people didn't notice it until I pointed it out.)

I also have a tank - I'll probably switch the one I currently have on it.

I didn't want to take all the pieces out of storage to get pics before seeing if anyone was interested. I'm not sure what a complete OEM fairing set would run, but I know it isn't cheap and I pretty much never see them in this condition on eBay.

There are some scratches on the black plastic belly fairing - I'd probably replace that with a matching blue one, personally, just because that was the one drawback about the older models paint to me - the non-matched/painted belly.

Idk what a fair price is for a complete OEM fairing with tank.. I'll say 1000 obo to give myself some wiggle room right now, since one side of the fairings cost me 267 + shipping when I replaced it in the past!

If interested, text me at 408.212.1915 - if there is serious interest I'll pull them out for pics.

Well, clearly the pic feature didn't work well... so here is a link to the pics https://imgur.com/a/6H0DC

I think I might also have the scratched up fairing I replaced, now that I think about it. It wasn't cracked or anything, so I doubt I threw it away. I just didn't want to bother with getting it repainted, lol. I have the rear seat cowl, as well.

I also have a connie seat I might part with if anyone is interested.

One more - I have a stock/oem header/fairing set. 50 bucks to whoever wants it. Has some scratches, but I just want it out of my space.

Price lowered - without tank - 650 shipped. You can't find a better deal. I broke my leg on a motocross track and just want it out of the garage as easy as possible, since putting it back in storage is difficult enough.

Price lowered - 550 shipped without the tank. If it doesn't sell now I'll just sell them individually and make more money with more hassle.

It would be a done deal @ $550 if you were closer to Maryland. GLWS

I'm willing to ship them to you. I've literally lowered the price all the way down to 380 locally to try and get them out of the garage, so if you're really looking for a set text/call me at 408.212.1915 and we can try and work something out?

I'm in the Bay Area... they just sold on eBay, though.... hopefully, the shipping doesn't kill me.. I'm just glad I'll have my garage space back.

Congrats was apparently too early... the guy got them and complained up and down about the condition (two weeks later, mind you... I'm hoping he didn't switch some fairings out and keep parts he wanted... I have a Delta pilot in the family and am not opposed to a free flight to Kentucky and showing up on his door one weekend if that's the case, lol.). Unbelievable - especially considering there is a newer gen set for 1800 on eBay in similar to worse condition AND I had like 30 high quality photo taken with a DSLR in the ad. He literally sent me a picture of a bike that looked brand new and said "The fairings I have are in better condition."

Apparently, he expected them to be 100% new mint condition OEM fairings for 460 bucks. This is why I fucking hate eBay.

So, the fairings are coming back. I can ship them for 100 bucks, as I found out, which is pretty sweet (two boxes), but I just can't get over the fact that someone complained about those fairings that I was always complimented on even with the listed scratches, when I included all the extras like a windscreen, interior plastic panels and such, etc.

If anyone who's not batshit insane and thinks they should get a brand-new (and actually the mid left fairing WAS brand new lol) fairing set for under 500 bucks that isn't made in China wants them, contact me - otherwise, I'm just going to part them out and make more money, albeit at a bit of a hassle.

Ridiculous.

Yeah man, one buys used fairings on Ebay for price, not pristine finish. If you get something with very minor scuffs and a couple scratches that can easily be buffed out, that is very good. That's normal wear. As long as there are no cracks or broken tabs, buy it and expect to do some restoration to the finish if you want them like new. It's a great cheap way to learn how to do paint repairs with products you can pick up at the auto supply. A paint pen and some good aerosol clear coat, polishing compound maybe some super fine sand paper and you're set.If you don't want to bother with that, buy brand new and pay through the nose.

Heck, if the price is right, I'd buy the wrong color in a used fairing and paint it. You can get it smoother than OEM with ordinary products if you know the tricks and that just takes practice.

Exactly, Rook! A complete fairing set, inside and out, with no broken tabs, most pieces in almost new condition entirely, for under 500 bucks? I was at a loss when they complained - and now I'm literally giving them a 250 dollar "partial" refund just to avoid the whole thing and make it so I can use eBay again.

If anyone ever sells anything on eBay to DJDizzyDean in Glasgow, KY for a ZX-14 I HIGHLY recommend canceling the purchase.

Cheeze! I think I'd take the fairings back but if you're not in the business of selling used motorcycle parts, you might as well just get rid of them. Now I know why some sellers have high prices on used parts. LOL watch, sellers will be offering "no bitch" rebates soon. You pay in full and accept the order, you get a 50% rebate!

Yeah - the thing is I'm usually the guy who sells all his stuff individually to try and get a good deal, too. I have 1100+ feedback on eBay and pretty much buy literally everything I own on eBay or Craigslist, lol. (People always wonder how I afford all this top of the line crap and I try and tell 'em, "Because I never buy it new or from the store and am willing to wait for the equipment I want to pop up for a deal!".. and also because I can fix the stuff when it breaks, haha.)

However, my worry was that he would end up just printing a label off with eBay to ship it back and eBay would charge me 330 dollars for shipping, in addition to the 150 I was already out on packing materials and shipping. I was able to ship all the way to the east coast from California for only 100 bucks total in two packages, but I have a feeling eBay's shipping option would not be so lenient...

Yes, I could have probably made double what I sold them for and covered my costs, but I'd rather not have them all over my garage and need to make 20 small trips to the post office as they sell, you know? I cut my losses and got ripped off - but at least I can warn people not to sell to Adam Dean in Glasgow, KY, should he bid on your ZX-14 parts. Unfortunately, since he was actually buying for a friend, it's likely he was not even the true culprit involved.

All that said, anyone need a stock header from a 2006? I got one I'm dumping for 50 bucks obo. :)

PS - I have my eBay auctions set to "no returns," but unfortunately that doesn't work with eBay. If a seller claims it's not as described then it's pretty much not as described. Even if you had 30 high quality photos accompanying your auction...

I've heard that eBay has moved to being extremely on the side of the buyer now. Could be attorneys for buyers got involved, and maybe judges decided the store is the default side who must make the transaction "right". I used to sell stuff on eBay all the time, really enjoyed it and made a few bucks here and there on things that were otherwise just gonna sit around at my house. But it progressively got more and more strict, overbearing, difficult, labor intensive. Used to be just type up your ad and hit Post, pics or not if ya don't feel like it. Then they started making things easier ... and "easier" ... . . . and "easier" ... to where it's not actually easier anymore, it actually requires an ass load of work and time just to post one item for sale.

As they say, all good things come to an end.

You hit the nail on the head. I've sold on eBay for 15 years... every year it gets worse and worse. The fees are pretty outrageous now, as well. What's worse is that I'm stuck paying the final value fee on a 565 dollar sale (including shipping) and I get no credit even though I gave this twat a 250 dollar partial refund.

eBay is right around the corner - I've actually done some tech installations for them. I feel like driving by and pissing on their sign right about now, lol. If only it weren't such a public space...... :)

I have generally quit eBay myself... golly I would love to take those fairings and take off you; have a 2006 in the same colour; and would like a spare set; but live in Calgary AB; still got these anyways?

Had I not sheared the lower frame crossmember in my recent off, I would be all over a deal like this. It would have taken care of 90% of the damage and I’d still havethe left side pieces to sell.
