I've got a new set of anodized grips to install on the beast. Anyone have any tips for removal and installation?

Does anyone know who might make oversized grips? I have large hands and would like something bigger than the stock grips.

I would try wrapping your throttle grip to simulate a thicker grip. See how you like it first. You're bound to loose some fine throttle control if you do high R cornering.

Tetrec, I have never removed hand grips but I believe they are glued onto the bar and they are a BEAch to get off. Good luck. Hope someone has some first hand experience to relay.

I've replaced my grips. Cut the old ones off. Put soapy water inside the new ones and slipped them on. -bg

Try some Grip Puppies. They slip over your exsiting grips.I've got the same problem with big hands. There nice with the heated grips too,the heat stays in them.

Hey Ninjamaster-I've been wondering where ya went!Hope everything's going well-MERRY CHRISTMAS!I asked about ya on another thread here-but now you're here so....did you ever get the reason why your 14 was starting weirdly?(or NOT starting, and dying on ya)?I got mine figured out(well,my mechanic found it).It was the Muzzy Ignition Advancer had come loose-not off,but changed the timing on me enough to give me fits trying to figure out WHAT was going on.Had my valves checked at the same time-24,000 miles and they were exact on the factory specs. That's when he noticed the advancer was moving when he tried to use the rotor to bump the engine. It all worked out fine though.Hope yours did also!I think I'm gonna give the grip puppies a shot here.Is that diameter going to change the way the throttle responds do you know?(just because the grip is now thicker with a larger O.D?)

Actually all went pretty smooth. A little wd-40 under the left grip made quick work of that. The color match on the se is good. Can't take an outside pic since we have snow and about -10degrees

Well it came down to the electrical connector to the fuel pump!I had the bike remapped in November(I put the hub on it and now have 2 maps).I need to recheck it cuz when we were doing the map the tank was loose and it shut off 3 times.
It's been awhile cuz I broke my wrist a week before Thanksgiving(fell 5 feet of a ladder)This has been the longest that I have not ridden a bike!!!The only thing I'm glad about is at least it's winter.
The grip puppies don't change anything(that I've noticed)The only problem I have is with the heated grips it warps the throttle tube a little.Nothing a little squirt or lube doesn't fix!!

I use an air gun to remove and install grips. Blow air between grip and bar and the grip is off or on to your choice.

Air hose shoved under the grip will losen them up also without putting oil on the bars

Hi all. New guy from North Alabama here. I have the candy burnt orange/black SE '09. I have the Johar sportbike grips on mine. The installation was pretty simple. I just used a pair of scissors and pliers to get the old ones off. Basically, start at the part of the grip where your thumb and index finger go and cut a snip into the rubber. Use your pliers to pull it back a little bit, cut some more, pull back, repeat. To install the new grips, I just cleaned the area after removing the factory grips which is just a gray plastic (kinda cheap feeling) slick grip. Then I used my wife's hairspray to lightly coat the plastic and immediately afterward, I pushed the new grips onto them. I waited about 8 hours before I rode, but it said to wait 12-24. The Johar instructions actually said to use hairspray, if you can believe it. They're quite comfy if not just a tad too spongy. Meaning, they give a little too much, but I haven't found anything even remotely close to these for comfort/usability. I have a video of it somewhere if you need to know how I did it.

Here's a link to them if you'd like to see what they look like:

I use the driven grips. Check them out! I dont think you can find higher quality. They came free with my pazzo levers from motor mummy so I put on the package deal, man talk about nice. I was so impressed I bought another set for my GSXR.

To much to list!

buck20: I've seen those, but I much prefer the extra padding Johar grips afford. Here's a pic:
