Some good news, I just received the disposition of my court case from my attorney, 80 mph in a 55 mph zone, 90 days deferred adjudication and a $175 fine, Thank You Lord!!! Much better outcome than I had anticipated, 25 over normally carries a pretty high fine. Now gotta really keep my speed down for at least 90 days.

That is correct, In Texas, if you make the probation period and stay clean it's like it never happened. I went to see my attorney today to ask about speeding violation number 2 and he said they are working on that. He apparently knows the county prosecutor very well and they will work together. Down in Mexico it's much simpler, you just pay the cop and go on your way. Here it works a little different and you have to grease some palms and play the game by the rules they setup and I'm perfectly OK with that.

Recalls? Everything has recalls. Fuel system recalls are a little scary though.

Yep V4 is no different. I am not in the mood for the V4 anyway, I'm done buying anymore motorcycles, current batch will last me the rest of my natural life and then some.

Hi Greenie, I had my first "save" this morning with the new radar detector. I was doing some "spirited" twisties riding on the new Repsol Honda when the Ka band alert went off, that's always a LEO, so I chopped throttle and my head went on a swivel looking around. I went through the next several turns at low speed wondering, "where the heck is this guy" and as I rounded an ess bend, there they were, three local cruisers had someone in a pickup truck pulled over, lights a flashin'. I rode by at very low speed and then picked the pace back up after I rounded a couple more turns. I'd say I had about a 1/2 mile early warning in some pretty twisty roads, so pretty decent and they were running constant on radar not instant on apparently. If I had not had the detector I would have come off that corner at pretty good speed and they were right there, if nothing else it would have been an "oh crap " moment for sure. I'm not relying on this thing heavily but I think it gives an added edge and a little more peace of mind.

Yea, I know, I was out with a buddy the last two days and couldn't resist. I picked up two local LEOs at about 1/2 mile range this morning but had an "oh crap" moment when I almost went head to head with a DPS Trooper in one of those stealth, Dodge Challenger special pursuit vehicles. I saw him entering the corner at 90 degrees and braked hard, no radar alert, he was using instant on and didn't thing I was worth shooting apparently. So this thing is helpful but far from perfect, the big variable is the instant on, that's tough.
