Hey everyone, just picked up a new 2017, my third ZX14. Previously had a 2006 and 2009, been off of sport bikes for more than 5 years. I tried the up-right thing but missed the Big ZX. Having returned to this forum, I notice that it seems that it is less frequented than it was several years ago. I am anxious to find ways to modify or personalize my new bike. One question that I am hoping to get answers on is the zx10 to ZX14 front fender mod. I did this mod on both of the previous two ZX’s. Has anything changed since the Gen 1 Bike’s? I did a search for this topic and found a lot of threads pertaining to modifying the Gen 1. Do the custom adapter brackets from the gen 1 work on the gen 2?
Have zx10 fenders changed enough that they are no longer adaptable to install on the gen 2.
The first thing I noticed on today’s first ride was the “howl” that is created under the huge stock fender. I would like to eliminate that “howl” and clean-up/lightened the front end. Can someone with a gen 2 weigh in on this topic?

Yeah, it's not like back in 06-07. Everyone wanted to know everything about the 14 then and now, we know it!

The Yanna Shiki front fender which is a direct fit is listed for 06-11 so I bet something has changed. I'm sure nothing that you couldn't fab up some brackets for. If you want quality and durability, a stock ZX-10 fender is the way to go but it will be heavier than a Yanna Shiki. Mine has cracked a couple times from tightening it...and loosening it too!

I wouldnt mess with the oem fender on my 2013, the thing is freakin perfect.

Its one of those mods that you didn't realize you needed until you've done it. Not only are things quieter up front, the appearance is greatly improved.

I did it on my 2014 model, used the template that Yannih put on the forum. I found I had to do the screen as well as the mudguard and screen work together. The wind coming off the nose changes with a different mudguard.
