Season opener
04/29/18 3:31 PM

Woke my baby up from its 5 month nap, in anticipation of my annual trip to NorCal that is coming up in less than 2 weeks. Decided to take it for a test ride in the unusually nice weather we had last week.

Ended up 550 miles from home, got to ride some of my favorite back roads that I haven't been on since last year

What a fantastic bike!

Here's a few pics...

Today would have been a great one for starting the riding season. Unfortunately, I have quite a bit of business to tend to before I can ride either bike.

As usual, the winter projects are not finished and I can't ride the 14 anyway.

Very nice Speedy, love those blue sky days in the North Woods! Bike look great and right at home with those Keep-it-Green fins in the north woods.

Is that Rainier or Shuksan the the Northern Cascades? Doesn't look "pointy" enough to be Shuk
From that lookout point Rainier does not look that big .... looks can be deceiving

That is Mt. Rainier, for some reason it looks smaller in the picture

Must be because the 14R is such a big girl

It is a big ass mountain, on a clear day you can see it from pretty much anywhere in the region.

Yep, I agree, she is massive. 12000 feet above the forest around her. 4 days up Liberty Ridge and one hell of a glasade down the regular rout. Never felt so far out there as on the 4th day on the ice to the summit. Days gone by...
