Finally made it to the strip.
08/30/10 7:36 AM

Went to track and our local 1/4 mile is shut down due to track damage. They are running at 1/8th mile now.

So after all this time of talking in here, finally got the bike ready for the strip. First the mods. zx14 lowered, stretched, shinko @18psi, pcv, brocks alien head, and -1 +2 gearing.

So made a bunch of passes, first time ever down the track. Best time of night was a 6.77 @ 109.48 with a 60ft of 1.74. My best reaction time of the night came on first pass with a .0016. After that i was around .25. Fastest through gate was a 109.9.

I dont think it was too bad, i beat all the street bikes there. I need to work on launches, i was bogging motor out of the hole, and the one run i tried 8k to launch, and i spun it all the way through 1st. I will probably get a +4 rear sprocket, as i am 260 pounds suited. I will continue to work on it, and hope only better things to come. Might make a drive this weekend and run a 1/4 mile.

Hey,

What's your altitude? The reason I ask is because I just went 6.38 @ 117 at SWB,,,,,sea level, stock wheel base, -1 up front and a 41 out back, strapped on Pilot Road II tires 38 psi. I weigh in at about 225 with leathers.

I have a feeling that you must be up there somewhere in altitude.

35 lbs is a big difference, especially in the 1/8 mile.

Doesn't sound like you did too bad. The best mod you can do, however, is weight reduction

Altitude is 774ft. I know I need to loose weight...I'm down 30lbs already. I just ordered a 45 tooth rear sprocket too. Hope I improve

That will likely help. What were your 60' and 330' times? You may need to drop the air pressure to get some more traction. I run 8 psi in my shinko drag radial BUT my bike is also launching on 240ish hp

best 60 ft 1.74 and best 330 4.51. Also, does anyone know if its ok to pull the carcol canister from under tail section for more room in there? Just bypass it back, i think its for emmisions only.
