The AHRMA event at Road America was a hoot, despite the cool, windy weather. According to sources, the Ducati Panigale v-twins (superceded by the V4) were topping 180 mph on the front straight. As I watched from the inside wall, they were getting air over the rise after the turn onto the straight.
AHRMA is becoming much more progressive with creating new classes for non-current racebikes. The guys who raced the Goldstars and Manxes are mostly dead, and there are tons of non-current racebikes gathering dust in garages. Have yet to see a ZX14 out there, but if you get three 14 owners to join up and race, they might create a class for you to run ‘em in. I sat in on the classroom sessions and learned a couple things just listening.
