AHRMA at the Fastest Track in the West
04/29/18 5:29 PM

Took a drive up to Willow Springs, the Fastest Track in the West Sat for the AHRMA races. What an amazing day and collection of vintage race bikes in action. Another perfect blue sky day in the high desert.

It was a trip back in time for me, this "Grid Official" says it all...

My Future retirement toys:

Just a few of the better random shots - keep it green

Hub's buddy Jeffo - no wonder he needed the maps for more power

And a few of the slower non-Team Green:

Cool! I wonder if my 14 will be seen among other vintage bikes in 40 years?

It's already a classic D!

They are running at Road America in a few weeks, bet you can get your license and run there too. Our zen master knows the way ....

No, not likely in a few weeks but that is a dream I have for the near future. A trailor, both bikes (and maybe a third) and Elkhart Lake---Road America, BABY!!!

The AHRMA event at Road America was a hoot, despite the cool, windy weather. According to sources, the Ducati Panigale v-twins (superceded by the V4) were topping 180 mph on the front straight. As I watched from the inside wall, they were getting air over the rise after the turn onto the straight.

AHRMA is becoming much more progressive with creating new classes for non-current racebikes. The guys who raced the Goldstars and Manxes are mostly dead, and there are tons of non-current racebikes gathering dust in garages. Have yet to see a ZX14 out there, but if you get three 14 owners to join up and race, they might create a class for you to run ‘em in. I sat in on the classroom sessions and learned a couple things just listening.
