Let me ask you... I know I'm brash, but besides that, am I outta line with this guy? I don't think I am... but this is your forum and if you say the word, I will back off. I mean, you do see how he instigates this shit, right? I know it would be better if I just let it roll... but a guy can only take so much... Real world, face to face, this would have been squashed long ago.
You know, I haven't taken the time to read through all of the messages here in detail. Been a bit too busy. I do see that you both keep pushing on each other pretty hard.
You both have been around here and contributing for a long time, and you're both grown-ups.
I dunno, though. Seems like life is too short to be spending time arguing, trying to prove that your point of view or your opinions are the best somehow.
Actually, I've been thinking about some of Grn's recent postings and realize more than I did before that different folks really like very different things. I've heard a lot of older riders say they don't care at all about speed. I can't imagine that, but I accept it.
Grn likes the challenge of going very fast on open roads, and probably wouldn't enjoy the track. I'm fascinated by finding ways to get around a racetrack faster -- without ending up on the ground during the learning process. Without those fascinations/motivations, I imagine the track would be boring.
Same with sports... I could care less about basketball and baseball (boring -- I don't know why they bother...), hockey is mildly interesting sometimes, football can be exciting if you're all in for a particular team. But what I really appreciate and enjoy is watching Barclay's Premier League soccer. That and motorcycle racing, of course. A lot of this is wrapped up in how well (or how little) you understand the sport, I think.
Just because someone else has a different mind set doesn't mean we have to rag on them, though. Doesn't seem productive to try to prove to someone that you're right and they're wrong when it's all subjective.
I just hope that you're both still enjoying the forum in general... -bg
