Mav, I believe the flash is "quicker" [2lbs of torque unleashed] is that burst of feet but linear. Whereas, the faster bike is the stock map. Whereas, the 'quicker-flashed-map' has more TQ to push the lower ET.

Whereas, Do you see how clouded my mind is? I'm so confused. I don't know whether to add the GPS into this? Where is that map and did you lock the gear maps?

Hub and Romans, Think I finally got this figured out after a lot of reading... and trying to educate when it's my fault for not reading closer!!!

This is a great forum!!!

Oh no, Rk, thank you all! From the OP to every poster. This has been more fun trying to figure thishit out, I just digested Ivan's deal, now I am puzzled with this flashithefuk are you guys doing to me?

Believe me, I am in cranial bliss wit dis. I have no proof with the GPS vs. WATT I think is flash. So, my conclusion as to guessing the steps of the flip to flop, if you lock to an all gear map and disable the GPS maps? I say have Justin look into a radio click to keep the gears unlocked? I'm not at the other computer to see if that is possible? That's my guess of Brock with the tre hit to the GPS, lost the 2 top but rather squirt the 'quicker' footable. To me, that says it's back to that raggedge of the (+/-)tagging-sagging-lagging-Minus-A Dancing Dash.

That says, I lost top but gained torque... And now I am at a stopping point. Why? I need to know the flashed-a. I am 14.2a OE. Where am I in the flash? Okay, I choose the paraphrase, "If you don't squirt it much, yes better mileage." That, the smoothing effect, yes, I will have the OE outperform we match for match throttles vs. mileage. That tells me rich. How rich?

Only your flash knows for sure. Did that show you the 3 things I see = 4th Dimension?:

1. 2 for 2 = I'll take the TQ.
2. I locked the gear maps?
3. GPSilhouette sounds like?
4th D. Smells like?

maverick1441 not sure Hub is 100% right about that .. Stock ECU with flys out I was pretty much stuck at 8.50 ..I think what helped the most with the flash was being able to shift at 11200 and not 10900 ..That alone got me 8.47 to 8.45 and picked up some MPH to boot .. I don't think the extra timing in the mid range helped much at all because I don't use anything below 5500 ..On the street in a roll on race it may be helpful ..Getting rid of the safe mode is a plus and having the default on the TC is great ..I'm pretty sure I could run in the high 8.40s without the flash in good air ..So that is why I say Hub is not 100% right ..Maybe 90% right :) .. In my mind the A/F ratio is more important that the flash but the flash does help ..

Turbo Flash Now Available. Flash is still only 250. If you have your own Woolich software I will guide you through it, Free.

Thinking with H2 prices this may be something a few more of us may be getting into. Cheers

You can have it either way. You flash AFRs and that is what you are stuck with unless you reflash. PC5, you can remap when you want or tune yourself with AutoTune.

RE: Roman's Flash.

I usually don't spend much time on the forums these days, but I feel it necessary to come on here and speak about my experiences with the Romans Flash.

A little info first: I own a 2009 ZX14 which has been modified to add a Cycle logic turbo kit. The turbo is an IHI VF22 with an 8 PSI spring in the wastegate actuator. The fuel is being managed using a DJ PCV, DJ wideband 2 and the LCD 200 for recording. The bike has been built as a fast daily driver not a drag bike

The turbo kit has been on the bike for ~3.5 years and a little over 11k miles. Since the beginning I have been annoyed (that's putting it lightly) by the motor's inability to pull smoothly when throttle was applied. Every time I would increase throttle, sometimes by as little as 10% the bike would "cough", "cough" and then go. I went thru hundreds of maps and different accel pump settings. I changed all kind of hardware on the bike to try and fix this problem. Another issue was that I could not take a corner in a higher gear and kind of "chug" through it with the infamous "cough", "cough" then go. It got to the point where I turned my back on the ole girl and started dabbling in Yamaha VMAX's. They are not a ZX14 but I was having fun with them. I started thinking about selling the 14 but new I needed to sell some of my high dollar parts to recoup some $$$. I sold my Ohlins suspension to a forum member and then sold my carbon fiber wheels to Romans.

It was this sell that opened the door to discussions with Romes about the problems I was having with the turbo bike. He said he could help, he said he could get rid of the issues I was having, my response "yeah, yeah" whatever.

After a couple of discussions I decided to send my ECU and have it flashed, if it worked it would help me sell the bike. Last Sunday, beautiful day in North Texas I decided to take her out for a flogging. WOW, I could not believe the results, the bike was sooooo smoooooth. The "choughing" was gone, unbelieveable, I spent years chasing this issue and now its gone. I felt like I was on a different bike, the acceleration from bottom to top was just seemless. I had so much fun that I have decided to keep the bike, can I have my suspension and wheels back now?

If you own a turbo ZX14 this is the best money you could ever spend on your bike, $250 USD and you can send it back for changes as many times as you like. The other good part, Rick is a good guy, easy to get along with and very knowledgeable.

sorry so long but wanted to get the good word out!

I sold my Ohlins suspension to a forum member

He's embarrassed to say he knows me.

can I have my suspension and wheels back now?

I don't think so. I hope not ever. I pull through the on the monthly bills every month but if I'm in a position where I get behind, the Ohlins's are yours back. Don't worry, the orange vinyl comes right off the lines for the shock. LOL
OHLINS install

I'm planning to do try the Romans Flash soon myself. I'm perfectly happy how my bike is running without boost but I can't wait to how much better it can be.

I can't wait until next spring when I can let Rick work his magic on my turbo bike too. He will be doing his Turbo flash on my bike. I know there is huge untapped potential on the bottom end, and I'm not talking about 5-8 hp either - more like 20-30 hp. I sampled his turbo flash first hand last year when Fazer purchased Ricks turbo kit from his Gen 1 bike and Rick installed it along with his ecu flash. That bike was bar none the smoothest, best running bike I have ever been on. I was absolutely blown away by the way that bike worked. It was flawless. Fazer - why'd ya have to go and fuck that up?

Been wondering, where is rspauldi? Tried texting him a couple times and no answer. Now I have to try again. Hope you're just busy, bro. Hope the back is ship shape again and you're getting your foot action back.

I'm struggling through the monthly bills here and up to my ears in child support but I'm not letting that OHLINS suspension go. If I ever do, it goes back to you. You have dibs. I'll give you a steal. LOL. You pay my PayPal 0% 12 month credit balance and it's yourn again. I have been making regular payments so the very nice price you gave me is paid down some.

Where the heck are you? rspauldi is a great guy. I'm a little worried about him.

Sadly the main season of biking is beginning, so no time for long shipping over the AO.

If it is going on a 2012+ make sure it is the exact same ECU part# as your current one. There are multiple part #s.

Guys, I am very Happy to Report Whoolich Software users now Have the Ability To Adjust Fan Temps inside the ECU. This is for the model years 2012 to 2015. For those of us who offer Fully customizable ECU Flashes this is Great News.

If your in a Hot climate or sit in Rush hour traffic on a regular basis this may be something you're interested in.

I have listed the Fan ON/OFF temps settings below. Stock is, On at 95 oFF at 90. My own bike is now set at 90/85. If this is something you're interested in please feel free to contact myself or your flash software supporter.

This is a very welcome addition. Very pleased. Have fun guys, ride safe. Cheers.

I'm running nitrous and you DO NOT recommend that I flash?

No flashed fueling for me since will definitely want to tune for nitrous.

No flashed timing because i will want to tune that for nitrous as well???

So basically, if I use nitrous and don't have my own flash software, I'm going to need to be running a PC5 and Timing Module. The only thing to flash with a nitrous Gen1 will be to increase the rev limiter. I don't know enough about nitrous to say but it seems possible that running nitrous over 11,000 rpm might not be something that I want to do anyway.

So no flashed rev limiter with nitrous either?

Rev limiter should not be touched for nitrous application. That is assuming that your stock valve springs are still installed. If that's the case, then you don't need to spray over a 30 shot anyways.

Rev limiter should not be touched for nitrous application.

Oh yeah, that's right. Actually then raising the rev limiter will add a larger safety zone since I don't plan to use any device to cut the nitrous if the rev limiter is hit. I'm just going to have to be careful until I can get a progressive controller.

Thanks. Looks like I will flash my rev limiter to 12000 and probably keep the fueling and timing stock. It could create a lot of potential for errors if the timing was already adjusted with a flash and then I went to +/- that with an ignition module.

Thanks Mav.

I still want to have the Romans tuning. After all, I only plan to be using nitrous a fraction of the time I'm on the bike. Seems the best course would be to have ROmans maps loaded in a PC and Ignition module and just flash the rev limiter. That way, I can switch to nitrous mapping on the fly. Flies are already out so no need to adjust that.

I meant you need to stay at 11,500 rpm for nitrous if your not installing quality valve springs.
