Here in the states, I haven't found a dealer that has any 2016's yet. Most haven't even placed their orders yet. They are still trying to get rid of their remaining 2015 models. I was told by the dealer that they may have some in February.

I would think next year's model would be revised.
At least one would think. 2012-2016 unchanged.
I was considering trading for a superDuke or a Ducati Diavel, but meh......
that's the only bike I'd consider trading my 2012 for; a somewhat revised, updated 14R.

Yeah I think that looks really cheap and tacky.
They should so something like this...

I just bought my 2016 zx14 SE and it is pretty sah-weet. It is not my first zx14. My first was an 2008 that I used to travel everywhere. The 2016 is much more nimble and feels lighter. The ability to change the screen color is nice, but the best part is the stronger engine than the 2008 has. Can't wait to upgrade accessories like exhaust and headlights so that I can make it my own.

I'm bummed that they put a carbon fiber sticker on the flares. It seems like someone wanted to add a last minute detail to the design. I may change to a real carbon fiber one in the future.

Just ready to turn 2500 miles on the 2016 that I picked up the day after Christmas. Kawasaki had to replace two of the simulated carbon fiber decals because there were bubbles visible. I still haven't re-applied them but will get around to it later. I did pick up a chrome decal kit for the 8 fins on the side covers. $44 and they come on a sheet of paper and are to be applied on the top edge of the fins. Different lenghts for different fins. Thought it might add something to a really bland looking bike. Will apply them later. After market also offers a round chrome plug with a ZX on it for the 1 3/4 inch hole in the exhaust hanger bracket. I am slowly warming up to the bike. I loved my Atomic Silver 08 and the green 2012 and had Kawasaki offered the bike with all the Brembo stuff and ABS system in another color I would have given it serious consideration over the metalic carbon gray thing.
The ability to change the background on the screen is nice but it does not improve the ability to read anything any better under certain light conditions. I think they are setting the suspension up for the American market. We have a higher average weight than many other countries and they seem to be sending them set up for the difference. Or then again it might be that I lost 42 pounds a couple years ago. Anyway the bike seems to be much stiffer than my 2012. The one thing that I noticed on the 2016 is that it pulls better and has a deeper throatier sound from the exhaust system when you feed the coal to it. I mean pulls really better! I think they have gone into the ECU and made some changes. No reason why they wouldn't. With all of the many improvements they have made from 2008 to 2016 there is no reason why they couldn't ask more from the engine by re-programing. Fuel economy has been from 39 to 44 depending upon driving conditions, about same as for my 2012.
I can't stand the textured exhaust pipes. I have a chip on one to the bare metal and don't know how it got there. I have to pull the bike through a 30 inch door to the shop and if the pipe touches the door frame it peels the texture off and leaves a mark. The pipe always looks dirty and they stain when you put detergent cleaner on them. The soft OEM rubber will not last 5K so I have already ordered a set of Micheline Road 4 with the rear having 55 profile. I usually get 10K out of the Michelins and have been happy with them. The sun just came out and I am going for a ride!

2500 miles already you're a rider for sure! '16 SE it looks a lot better in daylight than it does in the showroom. You could consider doing some plastidip, or getting some anodized parts or different colored windscreen. Some orange stuff might look pretty cool on there. Puig Racing comes in orange, I like my blue Puig Racing screen.
On the floor the dealer had the rear suspension preload cranked damn near full. They said people looking at sportbikes expect a stiff suspension. I backed it off quite a bit, anyone that would want that sort of preload doesn't understand shit about what suspension does. Also your suspension probably still breaking in a little, but it could be fully broke in by now.
Stock tires are soft compound. But that's for a reason. Bikes got a lot of power. Most people don't get 5k out of the stockers so you must be taking it pretty easy.
Kaw has never been known for fit and finish. My bike had a near invisible scratch on one muffler, a run in one of the passenger peg mounts, a pinhead sized hole in the tank pant, and a fairing rattle from hell which was "fixed" (by me) caused by the small plate under the windscreen. I've since removed that plate (and brackets) anyway, after getting my Puig screen.
I can say, don't let anything touch your bike and not to affect the finish. Even gear can scratch or mar your finihs. Don't let a door scrape up against the pipes. I won't blame Kaw on scratches from contact with about anything. That's motorcycles IME (and well anything that's finished nicely).
WOuld I buy another? Heck yeah! This bike's insane and it's an insane amount of fun to ride. Chews through tires. Chews through gas. But it's all worth it.
Have fun out there. I've got 400+ miles in this season but the last couple weeks the weathers got me at a stand still. Looking better later this week though.
