added SW-Motech tank bag
11/21/15 11:03 PM

Added the SW-Motech tank bag.

A little pricy at around $300, but very nice and keeps bag off the tank.

Got the "Sport Bag" model. Hard to tell all the different sizes, but
I wanted something that would fit an 8.5" x 11" legal pad and a pair of
shoes. The Sport bag model just fits an 8.5" x 11" legal pad on the bottom.
A pair of shoes no problem.

The tank ring set up is pretty cool and works perfectly.

The Sport Bag model is completely out of peripheral view when riding, don't
even know it's there unless you look down and does not block the view of any gauges, etc.

That's a sleek-looking tank bag. Wonder if you can get it with a rear zipper pocket?

SW-Motech has several shapes/sizes of the EVO Quick lock bags

The EVO Sport is 14L and unzips to 21L

The EVO City is 11L - 15L

piken - Where do you attach the ring on the bottom of the tank bag? It seems like the ZX's fuel filler is so far back that the tank ring would need to also be mounted very far back on the bag, such that stuff in the front of the bag might cause the front of the bag to sag and touch the tank?

Thanks!

Thought a pic might help.

There's a channel in the bottom of the bag that
you select where to put the mount when you get it.

Drill the holes and mount it. Also there's a solid plastic
base like +/- 1/4" thick in the bottom of the bag that keeps
it flat.

OK, perfect! I knew about the channel and that you need to choose where to attach the mount in it ... just thought the mount would need to be all the way back at the rear end, such that most of the front of the bag would be cantilevered, which didn't seem like a great idea. Yours is close to the front-to-back middle, which is very good.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to snap a pic, and the info - I really appreciate that.

Dammat! More money to spend now!

piken - Do you happen to remember if you got ring Type 135 (ZX14 Ninja² '08-'16) or Type 140 (ZZR1400 '06-'14)?

Type 135 says " ² some ZX14s have holes without any threading and require two extra nylocks to attach the ring. If you're attaching a tankring to this bike, let us know and we'll send you the extra Nylocks!"

Did you need those Nylocks?

Thanks again!

That was confusing. I talked to Revzilla, only carry one now.
old one gone no longer available.

Revzilla item number 1014666 (type 140)

Needs nothing special, just bolts right on.
