Aftermarket Emblems

Has anyone tried them? They sell on Ebay for $12/2 emblems as opposed to OEM which is ~$34 for just one. Do they stick? Look good?

I'm talking about the tail fairing raised emblem.

I just put Black ones on since I removed all of the Silver ones and they have been on for a few days now without problems. However, when I was waxing afterwards my cloth caught one of the tips of the "Z" causing it to lift but I used my hair dryer to heat it up and hold it back down, which worked. There are a few sellers on ebay and mine took about a month to get here from China but I do recommend them.

Thanks, Bobz. I'll give them a shot. If they don't stick, there is a double sided tape made by 3M that was supposed to work well. It looks very thin and colorless. Cut around the edge with a X-acto. Probably pretty heat resistant. I have used the soft jellylike mounting tape under the air box and it does not stay stuck but does elsewhere. The rectifier gets hot on the RH side under the tail fairing and that is a pretty severe curve you're applying to.

I bet this stuff would do the trick but at $33 (that's the cheapest I can find), using new OEM emblems starts to look more cost effective.

I think I will paint mine anodized blue and if I don't like it, I can just rip it off and replace with OEM. If it sticks and I like it, I guess it will be there for ever...only thing, I heard that anodized paint fades in the sun kind of easily.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how well they hold up.

I'm guessing they'll look good for a while probalby after a couple years start falling off, probably yellow and crack that sort of thing.

Then you order the tape. I'd rather pay $33 for 12 pieces of tape than $33 + shipping for an emblem. I already have the OEM one but I don't think it would stick a second time unless you had the tape. What do you think about a second stick with the OEM emblem Bobz?

I don't see how these are any different than the OEM ones. Just because they are made in China? Hell, where are the OEMs made? The Black ones I bought appear identical to the OEMs in regards to material and the adhesive backing. And I have used after market emblems on several cars in the past and never had problems, which I suspect will be the case with these as well.
