That will be a great warm up for the Deals Gap ride, have fun, wish I could join you.

Yeah, I'm excited. I decided to leave at dawn, in the cool, as I always like to do instead of in the heat, late, after work, tired and with traffic....LOL

As much as I'd love to use all back roads, the fastest way is gonna be the best way, which is 81 all the way.

At least early in the morning I can get way south before too much traffic starts up and before the big heat of the day. Mentally, I'm already on the road. Bike is packed, pointed outward and only needs a fuel stop....pisses me off but at least everything else is right and ready.

This should complete the task of wasting my tires so that by the end of next month I'll feel good about tossing the Bridgestones with about 4K on them instead of 3200 or so.

Deals Gap will be great with my brand new Pilot Road 4s !

I learned that I'm attending my grandson's birthday party at 3 PM in Winchester VA. That takes care of my riding plans.

I'm very sorry that I will not make this meetup after all....no way around it for me. If it was a little closer I could have pulled it off, but NC is too much of a road trip for me.

If something comes up in the Philly area or as far south as Roanoake, VA, I would have a better shot at joining in.
