Hi Guys,
Anyone with a ZX-14R and HM Plus quick shifter installed, what is your kill time setting for smooth shifting?
I had this quick shifter on a Gen 1 and it was great but is clunky on the Gen 2 at the same settings...

Yannih, I didn't have to adjust the settings when I switched mine over. Reccomeded kill time is between 50ms to 60ms.
I think default is set at 60ms. You may want also want to play with the sensitivity settings, and also check the free play with the shift lever. I'm assuming you have adjustable rear sets? I did notice that shifting at the lower RPMS around 5K if not in the throttle hard can be a little bit hard at times.

My current kill time is 60ms.
May have to increase it slightly.
Sensitivity is 65. Might tweak that up a little as well.
Yep, I have high quality rearsets and the free play is almost none existent.
I also agree that the higher the rpm, the smoother the shift but even then it's not quite where I want it at the moment...

There we go.
Some advice from a pro racer and a little trial and error and
Kill time 75
Sensitivity 60
Perfect smooth shifts in all gears including 1st to 2nd.
Strange how the HM Plus settings differ from Gen 1 to Gen2.
P.S.
However I did for the first time experience what Rook described with a false neutral during shifting so will need to be very definite with my quick shifting gear changes...

Beautiful day today
took her for a ride
I can't come up with enough adjectives to describe how it was riding with the HM lever in place
Let just say it was money well spent
the sound is intoxicating
it's like an F1 car but better
because i'm on two wheels

Yep, great addiction.
And I reckon the HM Plus is very hard to beat in the quickshifter range of options.
Very pleased with mine indeed.

I'm still debating on the lever version ...
I have a buddy that can get it to me for $550 vs the 750$ from HM ... I'm sure I could get it lower than that if HM answered there emails smh...
Any you guys have a pic or vid of the lever mounted/in action?

How's the lever sensitivity adjusted?
I'm assuming there's buttons on it? Or do I need to connect it to pc?

Thanks Pete, there must be two versions out then as a guy 1441 says there's no buttons on his and you hold the lever for xx amount of seconds to adjust settings.....
Either way I have one coming .....

BlackPearl the weather has not been the best So I have NOT been out riding.
But the stock default numbers are working just fine for me
I will post If I make a change.
I do love banging shifts without the clutch......
But It's NO longer banging shifts because it's SO Smooth!!!

Just a quick point now that I have ridden this brand Quickshifter for a while now (I have the HM Plus, not the lever as I have rearsets on the bike).
If I shift at high, strongly accelerating RPM through the gear range, the shifter is silky smooth. This includes shifts from 1-2.
However if I shift during slower street riding type RPM's where the acceleration isnt as hard, it can be a little clunky in gears 1-2 and sometimes 2-3. The rest are fine.
Doesn't bother me in the least as I don't use the quickshifter unless I'm riding hard and I'm sure that's the way it's been designed.
This is also at the settings I advise above.
Perhaps that's all obvious but I just thought I would add.
I am extremely happy with the HM Plus.
Amazing piece of kit...
