Gen1 tranny
09/18/17 7:20 AM

Hey guys, I recently just damaged my transmission, believe I bent a shift fork (hoping that's all). I had a question, being that I have to open up tranny anyway, will a gen2 tranny and clutch work with a gen1? I do trackdays and the slipper clutch would be better suited for it. Has anyone done this conversion or know of anyone that did? Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

No. Gen1 has a conical cut crank to basket. Gen2 has straight cut gears at the crank to clutch. And no, can't swap crank/basket into a gen1 because gen2 is 1441 vs. 1352cc, where the crank's throw has added 2mm rod length, rather than extending the rod... I believe.
