First Gear tank bag
04/19/14 4:26 PM

So I have had this for all 7,000 miles I've put on my lovely zx14 and have been very pleased with it. I use magnets on the back and suction cups on the front. So far its been tested at very high speeds and and cross winds and has had a lot of weight in it and never came loose. The only time it has ever come loose was when it was below freezing and the suction cups came loose at the beginning of my ride. I've never owned a piece of gear that I've been impressed enough with to report on a forum about it but tonight my wife and I had to stop for beer on the way home and it held a six pack of twisted tea and a six pack of tall boy Coors lights.

I think that's the same bag I have. It was the very first thing I bought for my bike. It's huge, but man it can carry a lot of shit. I can confirm the six pack coors light tall boys cause I grabbed some last week along with some other shit. Lol. The size of the bag makes it nice for long hauls to lay on too.

It is big, so big I was worried it would be in the way while riding but I don't even notice it. My only complaint is the cell phone holder didn't fit my phone when I had the otter box case on it but now that I removed the case it just barely fits (HTC one).

I the only time I ever notice it, or it bugs me, is when I am riding aggressively cause I can't duct behind the windscreen. Otherwise it is almost always on the bike for the convenience cause I can stop somewhere on a ride and grab shit and have a place to put it.

My wife says it's my bikes fanny pack cuz my bike looks so sweet then it gets all nerded up with tank bag. I Don't care though I rarely ride without it.

It seems to have plenty of room. Does the tank bag include a clear map pocket/holder?

The main bulk of the bag can completely zip off and what is left is a base so to say that is a clear map pocket. Otherwise it has two clear pockets on the top of the main pack that could be used for a map or electronic device.

Nice bag. I'v had a tank bag on every bike I've owned since 1973 (still have all the bags, wish I had all the bikes) and have taken a buttload of crap over the years for mucking up the looks of the machines. Don't care. Wouldn't leave home without it.
