Trying to watch the 1st 2018 Indycar race today. Apparently they changed the rules on wing and downforce aero designs. In the first 10 laps there were 2 yellow flags due to spin outs, before the 40th lap there have been 3 more spin outs. Full course yellow flag - cut to tire commercial. Commentators are saying the drivers have issues handling the power with reduced down force wing design. WTF, other than more car commercials why all these stupid rule changes every year?
Nascar is even worse. A few yrs ago they started "Stage Racing" so there are like 3 stages in every race instead of a start and finish. So I guess the teams get a few smoke brakes each race while TV runs more commercials. I usually lose interest due to all this crap and change the channel.
If I was in charge I would allow completely open racing. Unlimited power, traction control and technology. Just put on the big boy pants and go racing and quit all the BS.
