pc lcd unit

have not seen anything in the forum that talks about the lcd unit for the power commander, this i think would benefit you guys that use multiple maps for different reasons. it will store all the maps you need and can change the map and adj f/a settings on the fly without having to pull into the garage and hooking up the laptop. imo worth the $230

didn't want to answer your dynabeads question in that "other" thread, so I'll stick it here. Don't have personal experience, but here's thread..

Before your criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you do criticize them, you're a mile away and have their shoes.

I can't say much for how it works becauuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse-- it doesn't! Not with the PCV. If you come across any info telling you the LCD is for the PCV, even on a DJ page, you better call them and make sure it is. The DJ website claims that it is compatible with the PCV in one place on their sight and in another they tell you it is "coming soon." I emailed them and they told me the LCD cannot currently communicate with the PCV.

Other than that, PCIII USB owners seem to think the LCD is great. I'm a little pissed.

There was no word on when there might be a firmware update that would allow the LCD to communicate with the PCV. I have spoken to two tech support guys from DJ over the past couple months and both indicated that there was a good chance that there might be such an update before long.

Currently, If you have the correct cable, the LCD is set up to work with the Wideband 2 tuning module which is pretty much the same thing as the Autotune module. I don't know if you would be able to access PCV data through the LCD and the WB2 but you would be able to read your fuel trims from the WB2, at least -- i guess. I'd talk to a DJ tech to find out exactly what data can be obtained with that set up.

IF i can find my link i will post it. It comes out of the DJ parts list, but here is the jist of it. The wideband and the lcd 100 is only compatible with the pc-111usb and there is a harness aval' to interface all three. The lcd -200 is what you will need with the pc-v. There is also a harness for the lcd -200,wb2, and the pc-v ''the two will not interchange!
I thought by now DJ would offer the 200 series, it was in the spring when i asked about this and was told it wasn't far from completion. I will find out if it is aval' tho and post back....

Thanks, Bill. I'll be watching.

This is getting so complicated that i don't even want to make any more comments right now. It might only confuse people so I am waiting until I know a little more what is going on with all this stuff. Won't it be nice when one day we can say, "Buy this, this and this" and everything will work with your PCV.

Rook it looks like thats what DJ is doing with the lcd-200. The screen their website shows with the pc-v,wideband2 connected to the new lcd has a much better display option.
On the pc3 usb with the lcd, and wb you have small analog like gauges at the bottom of the screen for a/f monitoring which works great[i use this combo alot for tun, dragracing]but its busy sometimes' however i really like this set up.
The new wb2 and pcv with the new lcd has a full dedicated screen for a/f that is easier to see and playback. I have the pc3usb wb,lcd-100 and its the bomb' when i make a pass down the 1/4 i hit playback on the return road and watch the run i just made then just make the fuel trim adjustments for the conditions and make another pass etc.
It really works great for tuning. Im selling my older suff[see classifieds] but its because i can't use it in supersport class this season,so it has to come off the bike.
When i use it again i will use the same set up just with the pc-v wb2 and lcd because they work that good.
When i get a answer from DJ i will post it up what they say..........Bill

Thanks. I'm all ears. Sounds like i might be changing over to WB2 and LCD-200 if the firmware update can't do the same thing. My fingers are crossed.

Encouraging news!!!!!!! I have been communicating with a DJ tech by email trying to change the firmware in my LCD-100 to LCD-200 firmware. After a few attempts, the guy just told me to call and he did a Vulcan mind meld with my computer to get the firmware updated. He then explained how to set up the AFR gauge function of the LCD so that I can read my emissions through the Autotune module. This will be only thing that I can do with the LCD until later firmware updates but I'm pretty happy. I can see if I am running lean or rich in real time. If I want to apply fuel trims, I will need to do that by hooking my bike up to my computer for now. I was assured that at some point, there would be an update that would make my LCD-100 fully functional with the PCV and the AT-200.

I highly recommend that anyone speak to a DJ rep about what combinations of electronics work together and if they are available at the present time. The second party dealers of all this stuff are probably not familiar with what electronics are compatible with other electronics. It's gotten too complicated with LCD-100, LCD-200, AT-200, WB2, PCV, PCIIIUSB. You really need to speak to the experts at DJ before spending the money. Of course, I'll tell what works for me but that will be some time before i have a chance to test it thoroughly.

I just thought I'd come back to this thread because the compatability issue I had between PCV, and LCD unit is resolved. The firmware was updated to both the LCD and the PCV by a dj support tech via internet. Everything is working together perfectly now.
