Can anyone help me with the info on if there is a cat converter up in the header pipes like some of the previous years 14r s?

I took a wire, tig fill rod- popped the mufflers off and pushed the rod up in there looking for it. There was not on my 2012. Probably only on Euro and Wouldnt be surprised if there was a California model, it surely would have one.

It depends on year, I think after some model yrs they did, possibly 2016 and on. Google search says this also along with a 10 Hp loss because of. I also think the 2017 has the O2 sensor also. My '14 CA BBW does not have a cat in the head pipe.

I know that the HP issue was not a problem in the 2017.I heard that about the 2016. The mechanics at the dealer are coached not to say because of warranty work.

As far as I know....

2006-2011 in header

2012-2015 in cans

2016 - went to 3 way system, in cans and header/collector

My 2016 has a cat in the header collector. It didn't come with oem mufflers so I cant confirm that.

Piken's correct...2012-2015 in cans.There is a flow plate in the header at the collector..a bit in the pipe.But that's nothing.

I finished the project..Cat in collector for sure. Was a nightmare to extract. Cut the collector open and gutted it, welded it back together.If anyone has questions on 2017 zx14r..ask
