Brake Caliper Guard?

These "rails" on the calipers came with my bike. Has anyone seen these? Are they some kind of bracket or a protective guard?

07 ZX-14: Yoshi slip-ons, zero gravity screen, GPR stabilizer, PC3, No Flies, BMC Filter, Vortex Lowering Links, Vortex Rearsets (Reversed Shift Pattern), magnetic oil plug.

They are Schnitz lowering strap brackets

The man on top of the mountain didn't fall there.

Lowering Strap brackets make a lot of sense. He had a Muzzy Air Shifter on it that I am about to sell. I am not into drag racing. I want it to handle the best it can.
