KR Tuned Slip On Installed
05/29/10 3:35 PM

$599 shipped from SportbikeTrackGear

Just a cool effect on my camera:

Some audio I recorded with my iphone...

Stock Exhaust - http://rapidshare.com/files/393048982/ZX-14_Stock_Exhaust.wma

KR's w/ Baffles - http://rapidshare.com/files/393050701/ZX-14_KR_Tuned_WITH_Baffles.wma

KR's NO Baffles - http://rapidshare.com/files/393050292/ZX-14_KR_Tuned_Baffles_REMOVED.wma

I am very happy with this upgrade, the quality is top notch and they fit like a glove. The removable silencers have snap-ring's that were very easy to take in/out. I didn't weigh them but both mufflers and mid pipes combined still in the cardboard shipping box weigh less than one of the stock mufflers that's for sure! I've had multiple positive comments on the sound, and all have been surprised at how low they sound, which is exactly what I wanted.

You say they are low sounding? Do you mean deep or quiet?

DEEP :) Check out my samples man, they are pretty much at idle but the difference between stock and the KR's with the silencers removed is huge and evident in the recordings. I went a few days with the silencers removed, then installed, and then removed again... they haven't gone back in since.

They are blowing out the last few sets for $399, but only in silver not carbon... I paid $599!

Around 3500 and 2500 rpm I get a little grumble, and if I close off the throttle after a hard bit of acceleration they will backfire most of the time, but only if I sharply close off the throttle which I try not to do. I like to be as smooth and consistent as I can, and with that in mind they don't do it at all. I kind off like it to be honest, sounds badass, and I've done it on purpose quite a few times now when pulling up along side some peeps :) lol

At speed they scream, sounds really nice and not in a high pitched race bike kind of way either... just good and smooth. If you are looking to upgrade your stock cans, I don't think you could possibly find better slip ons brand new for about $420 shipped... they are tuned for stock config as well, so no PCIII required.

Another thing I really like is I can get off the bike and slap my bare hand right on the mufflers... they are hot but it wouldn't burn me unless I kept my hand on there. The carbon fiber they use for the muffler and the holding strap are really nice, the carbon strap blends right in and was a nice touch.

I assume you mean that indentation on the left mid-pipe? If so then no, the KR's do not have anything like that the pipe is smooth all the way up.

I saw your other thread about looking for slip ons with low (deep) sound and I just wanted to mention, that if you don't listen to those clips I uploaded on a good set of speakers (preferably with a subwoofer!) then the clip without the baffles sounds like shit.

I just opened it on my laptop and it sounds like ass lol

I can't hear the website due to it being a paysite called RapidShare.

When the link opens just click the option under the right "speedometer" for a "Free User" and it just makes you wait 30 seconds.

Unfortunately you have to wait 15 minutes between downloads as a free user... PITA I know but I didn't have a better way to host them.

EDIT - If you (or anyone else) would rather not use Rapid Share I can email them to you, just send me a PM
