Welcome. I'm new also. When I turned 38, I went from Sport Bikes to Harleys. Thought I needed to be less agressive. It was fun and met allot of great people, but now I'm back home and 45. Riding lounge chairs have made me fat. Missed the excitment and exileration of handling and exceleration. I pray the Lord watches over you and keeps you safe.

Just want to extend a hello, since I am new to this forum. I have been viewing this site for quite some time and taking in a lot of information regarding the zx-14.
I am an experienced rider and by no means a "wanna be". I sold my 2008 FJR 1300 back in December, house and money issues). However, I am getting ready for a bike purchase. After reviewing this site, I am anxiously getting that certain itch to get back in the saddle again. I forsee mid spring or fall the latest.
I want to thank you for the opportunity to join this forum and soon be among zx-14 pilots and personally understand why everyone loves their bike's so much.

My son has an FJR 1300. I've ridden it several times. You will be blown away by the 14. Only plus I can see to the FJR 1300 is that it seems to turn into the corners a little easier than the 14, but no biggie...

Hey bg thanks for the welcoming. I'm quite surprised that the FJR tuns in easier than the zx-14, very surprised. FJR was a really good bike. Took it on a trip to Niagara Falls from Long Island NY. About 8 hours of driving with my Fiance' on the back. Stock setup except for a cal-sci wind screen. Saved my ass, 'cause the stock screen was crap. Lots of turbulence and noise. The aftermarket screen provided some relief but still no gold-wing. If it wasn't for the windscreen issues I would be purchasing another FJR. But some experimenting on the FJR was the closer I was to the screen and closing the gap between your helmet and the windscreen reduces turbulance. Soooooooo, I'm thinking that the zx-14 should be quieter and less turbulance. My helmet is a shoei RF1000 with a chin curtain. Should complement the zx-14 quiet cockpit.
My previous bike recently was a 2006 Triumph sprint ST which I favored over my 2008 FJR 1300. Had a laminar lip and their "aero" screen set up on the bike. Now that was a nice bike, very sport oriented and could carve corners. I could very easily say thet the Triumph was faster than the FJR. But the FJR was a lot more accomidating for the Mrs on the back. Not perched like the Triumph.
Once again, I'm not looking for a "Gold wing". Heck, why get a bike, get a car, right? If you can't take a little noise and some wind.
Any input?
