Harbor Freight Portable Tire Changer 34542
03/24/11 9:07 AM

Took a ride to a local Harbor Frieght yesterday hoping to buy two items.

The wheel balancing stand and the tire changer.

The wheel balancing stand is not available in the store, and the tire changer is no longer available. Period.

I wonder if Harbor Frieight received enough E-Mails would they resume production?

With the cost of mounting tires rising, and the shoddy workmanship available at many shops, I've been doing my own by hand, it would be nice to have the option.

I'm sending them an E-Mail.

If you like agree:

Hmmm... I was just at Harbor Freight a few days ago and they had both the balancer and tire changer in store and in stock.

I own the HF tire changer... it works ok... but I would spend the extra money for the one Eric posted the link for, if I were to purchase again.

You guys need to get in good with a bike shop. I can ride the bike in and get my tires changed for $20 a piece.

Or you can get 'em done for $10 per at the track. Not always convenient though... neither is the bike shop. Closest to me is 40 minutes each way. Quicker to do it myself.

Going through 5-6 sets a year even at $20 a piece the $$ ads up quick!

Two friends of mine had there tires changed by No Mar at Daytona Bike Week 2011. They were impressed with the system and protection for their rims.
