Exhaust Question
04/28/09 2:06 PM

Hey everyone, I am new to this site and to the awesome machine that is the ZX14. I love the bike but feel that it is too quiet. I like the look of a couple of the Hindle exhaust cans and am looking for someone that might have them on their bikes. I know that Hindle makes the Brock's exhaust but I really dont want to pay that much for nothing more than a name... I really like the traditional oval carbon cans and the euro carbon cans...any one that can give their $.02 it is appreciated....by the way, I am only looking for slip-ons.

Thanks,

Chris

my wife and i both have zx14's and they both have two bros carbon fibre, the 07 has the m5 set and the 09 has the m2 they sound very much the same just a difference in size they are very deep and nice sounding but a bit on the loud side however the cops dont bother much with loud exhaust up here in maine.

Reevesmreeves, Has a SWEET set of Muzzy Oval carbons on his bike. They would go great with that new color scheme. IMHO. Check out some of his pics.

I really like my 2 bros carbon slip-ons.
Here's a clip of the sight and sound.

However, I will be selling these as I'm going with a full system.
Look for them in the "for sale" section soon!
I also have the sound reducing inserts, new in the package.

when you buy brocks over hindle you not just getting the name. your getting the best customer support in the industry. and other than mufflers there not the same. Brock exhaust make such great power because of the header. the header is the secret to good power. thats why full systems make beter power than slip on's. and the brocks header is not the same as the hindle. for the moey the brocks is the best in the biz. the muzzy's is close but the customer service at brocks it the kicker for me. Brock has called me personally a few times. Find just one other president of a company that is willing to do that.

07 black and blue tear away 14, brock's parts: alien head full exhaust, front end strap, ceramic wheel bearing, brock's quick change lowering links. pulled flies, speedo healer, muzzys timing advancer, muzzys block off plates, K&N,+1 rear, pirelli and the list goes on but is classified from there.

09zx14Se,

i notice you don't have a rear stand under your bike in your avatar. rear wheel maintanence is a pita with those huge cannons in the way. first, the rear stand won't clear the pipes easily. i have to force the bike up on the stand and it rubs the bottom of the cans. second, they get in the dang way when you want to clean your chain and wheel. third, they scrape the road when you're leaned over. i can't wait to get those massive things off the bike. they look and sound awesome, but i'm tired of them always getting in the way. everybody at bike night loves the sound (deep vibrating tone) of those slipons. i'm sure they are way lighter than the stock cans but they are just as massive.

thanks for the props romans!

reevesmreeves,

thanks for the info... as far as when I said that brock and hindle being the same, I was talking about the mufflers, seeing that I am only looking for slip-ons, I dont really need the extra power I am just looking for the sound so that cagers will know that I am there. if I am still in the market when the above mentioned 2 bros slip-ons I will definately look into those. I am currently looking at the hindle as stated, the M4 retro-drag, the Akrapovic, the 2 bros, and the competition werkes slip-ons. I really like the carbon because they stay relatively cool but they dont have to be. I also really like the muzzys but they are really expensive.... thanks for all of the info though...nice to see that there are good people willing to help on this forum.

Thanks

Chris

09zx14se - If you decide to go the M4 retro route, let me know if you want to buy a used set. I'll be selling mine very soon.

Im more than happy with the yoshi carbon slippons! The carbon finish is excellent and with the silent inserts removed they really have a deep savage sound when you go W.O.T.
Good luck with your decision.

Hey Chris -

Here are a few pics of the pipe. I just realized there's a spot on the left can where my boots have touched the pipe when putting the kickstand down. Other than that and a little road grime, they're in perfect condition.

As far as price goes, I saw they're still going for what I paid ($579). I'm thinking $400 shipped. Let me know what you think. My email is chris40oz77@gmail.com if you want to discuss this further.

Chris

those look to still be in good condition, im still trying to decide if i want to buy some cheap pipes (read used) now and wait to buy a nice set of slip-ons, or go ahead and get a nice set now and save the money in the long run. its funny that you are looking at the brock gen 3 because thats what got me looking at the hindel pipes (seeing that as long as you get the slip-ons they are essentially the same). i will discuss with the wife and let you know though...

Thanks,

Chris
