Hey C, when hard accelerating does it still pull like your duals did ?? This is were I noticed the torque loss 1-3 gears on my 10R.. She would not break the tire loose anymore, and I though something was wrong with bike..

I cannot have that if that's the case with the 14 also?
I love the torque pull! And if I loose that I'll keep the duals (like I mentioned when I 1st joined here)..

I've had plenty of exhaust to experiment with and always came back to the dual systems... For the simple reason loss of low end power...

Here's me muzzy gp 2nd exhaust for my 10R.. Sold it to purchase alien head when it was released .. While this system was nice it sounded like a 600 and annoying after awhile!..

Brocks dual megaphone (absolutely sick!!!) was my first exhaust ever!
Wish I never sold it..

Then I went to the alien head!! And vowed to never buy a shorty single again!! For some reason the difference between this and the muzzy gp were completely different the brocks sounded better, but loss power where I didn't notice the power loss that much with the muzzy...?

After I powdered it

Then I went to the next best system I ever owned the ARROW full race system with shorter cans !!
I gained the low end back and walked down anything that might have got the jump on me!

06black to totally different animals the zx10 and zx14 in the lower range below 7k.
Zx14 has a lot more power and trk down low. I had the same problem on my zx10 as you described. Did a thin head gasket and intake cam and re degreed the cams. Raised the compression. It fixed what was missing on the zx10 in the lower range from 3-7k. it would then pull from 3k on up like it would from 7k and up.

On the zx14 I switched from 2 brothers daul slipons to brocks alien head dauls. droped about 5-10 lbs. Bike actually pulled, excellarated, and reved faster. with the shorter brocks she seemed to breath easier. didn't get a chance to get her back on dyno to see if any real hp or trq differences. Put about 500 -1000 miles on her before accident. But there really was a seat of the pants difference. Had over 27k on bike with 2 brothers, Romans flash and other mods.

With the flash or custom tune ( whoever you choose) wakes the zx14 up like nothing else in the 3k-7k range. After that whtever pipe or system you go with will be a plus. From my research the muzzy for the price semms to be the most bang for the buck. Muzzy looks to make a lil more midrange power, brocks a lil more top end power. Both look and sound good. Also the muzzy compared to alien head is about 200-300 bucks cheaper. Weight of pipes about the same.
Of all pipes acro seems to be the best all around . But it ain't cheapest either.

My thoughts. Flame on. Rofl

Casper that's exactly what I wanted too know!!!

I prolly pick up the m10 once I get back bike .. That black one looks amazing!! And looks as if it belongs there!
I figured that Much as well since the 14 has massive power the loss shouldn't be as bad.. But since I'm not rich I rather ask questions then spend my $$$ lol...

From what I gather from research the 14 would rather have the short systems at the sacrifice of 1-3 hp which isn't bad!! Plus this will show off those OZ gold wheels a bit better once there mounted ...

Cblast I tried calling no answer bro!! I'll hit u up later if I can..

Same here C!

Thanks for calling back!!
I'm still debating, since my pops said just get a single exit collector for my brocks system..
So if I can I'll go that route...
If not I'm selling it...

I looked into swapping as well, brocks pricing. $230 for the collector. $240 for the midpipe, I guess it bolts up to the factory mount?

My mid pip is fine.. Don't see y that needs to be changed..
Unless they shaped it different for the single side exhaust..???
Worse case I'll have my collector modified to support my needs..

Dunno whats different. Its a different part number. Larger dia. maybe? That would make sense. I wouldnt bother with modifying the dual exit one.

Yeah, that's not a bad idea either! Might save a few bucks and you will still get great performance!

BP you definitely should go with CBlast for the ecu. Had mine done and did 14 runs over 200 with a best of 208 at Loring AFB.
His stuff flat out works!!!

2004 zx12 1290cc 191std HP 495 lbs
2014 zx14r 195sae HP 520 lbs
2014 Loring AFB 14 runs over 200mph
with a best of 208.1 in 1.5 miles
and 204.5 in the mile.
Now the Turbo 14R - best of 223.1 in the mile and 224.6 in the 1.5

Capt10ed, me an cblast our on the same page !! Even tho I use a different tuner I believe it's pretty much the same !
Now if I had a spare ECU. And Xtra $$ I would give it a go and compare them.. And choose what's best.. But for know I got a damn good setup but I will need to adjust for the new system ....
