So I'm on my way back from the Bear Mountain ZX14 - ZX14R meet we had On Aug 10th. It's a two lane highway and I'm leisurely making my way through traffic. Not maniacal speeding but not dragging my ass either. I come up behind a tow truck in the left lane and make a pass on the right because it was clear he wasn't going to move. I made the pass, got in front of him, took the right lane and maintained my speed at 80mph in a 65mph as indicated by my gps.

Five minutes down the road a truck rolls up on my rear only a few feet away from my tire. I look in my rear views and I see the writing on the hood and some metal stuff on top of the truck. I assumed it was the tow truck driver. Figured he may have been a little miffed at me passing him. I can't stand tailgaters, especially when I'm on the bike. So I lane split the 2 cars in front of me, play a little bobbing and weaving and put a good 10 car lengths between us. I filter to the right lane and maintain my speed again at 80mph.

10 minutes later the truck comes up hard on my ass again! I shake my head give it throttle again and soon he's out of site. Another 10 minutes goes by and here he comes again, speeds up right onto my ass. Doesn't try to pass just sits there tailgating. At this point I had it and blast off! I'm hitting 110-120 mph putting some serious distance between us. The road finally opens to 3 lanes and I blast off even harder put even more distance between us. At this point I feel confident that he's gone and I can relax at my set 80mph.

25 minutes later here he comes again. Back on my tail. But this time I said fuck it, let him tail for a while and see if he passes cause I want to get a look at this fucker and give him the WTF! He makes the move to pass and as he starts to get to my side I see those 3 dreaded letters come into view SHE.....

and I knew the rest as he pulled up we made eye contact and let me tell you, the man did not look impressed! All I could say to myself was Dave, look away man! Look away! So I turn my attention to the road in front of me as if it were nothing and he carried on! I could not believe he let that go! Now I'm not sure what jurisdictions Sheriffs have in NY or if he was on his way to another call but I sure was happy to see him disappear in front of me lol

I guess they're not all bad!

Grn, they could not care less about the danger they put others in. It takes a conscience to care. Their sole emotion is egotism.

I think you handled that with unshakable patience and diplomatic impulse control Dave. Was this a gun prohibitive state? I think if someone pulls on you like that you have the right to blast a few holes in their tires. Man good thing POPO was decent!

DAmn! I had a cop pass me at over a hundred on e time.. hehehe, I din't even know he was there. The road was all clear no traffic I'm layin on the tank cruisin at 100 and here comes some dude pulling up on my righ. He probably followed me for a few minutes and decided to let me go since I didn't try to run. I rolled back and he kept going. He gave me a mean look and just faded away.

actually, I saw both of those guys pulled up together at the end of an off ramp. It is very possible that there was a donut shop down there in the vicinity.
