No spark
04/20/18 8:08 PM

Just replaced plugs. Also installed Healtech gear position indicator. When I tried starting, turns over great but no run. The fuel pump is cycling fine. Maybe my big hands roughed up some part of the coil subharness? I really had to work at that plug change.

Maybe unplug the healtech and see what happens?

I'm sure it's something simple.

My first thought is the wire connectors. Did you remove the whole stick coil subharness? If so, did you remember to connect the main connector on the LH valve cover to the main wiring harness? If not that, the connectors to the stick coils?

Are the stick coils inserted into the wells all the way?

Are the spark plugs compatible with the engine?

Is the GIpro telling the ECU the bike is in gear? Did you try pulling the clutch lever when you crank it even if it's in N.

Other than that, you have the engine subharness on top of the valve cover. One of those connectors might have gotten tugged.

If you removed power to the GIpro, that's probably only for the display. The GIpro resistor is still going to send a signal to the ECU that the bike is in whatever gear map the GIpro is programmed for. If the ECU gets a 6th gear signal, the bike won't start without pulling the clutch. Set the GIpro for N mapping and it should start in any gear (danger). Or pull the clutch lever.

Also the kickstand sensor. If the ECU thinks the bike is in gear, it won't run with the sidestand down.

This is going to be an easy one.

I'm gonna guess there's the connector that connects the coil stick lead wires to the main wiring harness that was unplugged. Either that or the coil sticks weren't plugged in at all :)

Nope. It's a lot more obscure than that. Apparently it's a Gen2 peculiarity. Hint: it has something to do with the PAIR.

Nope.

Apparently something like that. The Gen2 has 2 hoses and it seems blocking both doesn't let the bike run. I can't understand why not but Main thing is he solved it.

No suckey no sparky is right. Originally when I installed the PCV, and 2Bros slip ons, I did the whole block the pair system off from the left side by plugging the hose and plugging the bottom of the air box. This has been working perf ever since. Enter stupid coming in from the right side messing w the pair solenoid whilst gaining access to spark plugs. A tactical error occured when I decided to use the Brocks supplied little red cap and block the hole and hose on the right side. This it seems buggered up the signal the sol was sending to the zx brain and no running was the outcome. Took me uninstalling, reinstalling all the aforementioned components before i bumbled into what I had done. Grrrrrrrrr
