I don't get all the excitement. Maybe I am giving boost way too much credit but isn't 220 hp very doable with stage 1 turbo?

And Nitrus. I know many of us would be reluctant to use it at all let alone for a prolonged period but a 30 shot system can be had for around 300- 500 $$.

Yeah, I know, the first thing that comes to mind is how wicked a 220 hp engine would be once it gets all hopped up. I'm trying to not go there. I'm staying in my little universe. The year is 2008. The economy sucks a little less that it does now and the 14 and the busa are the king of the speed game. Nothing can touch me.

Me too although the front is definitely all 14, there are a couple minor touches that are reminicent of the Hayabusa. I think Kaw should try to have as little in commmon with the busa in terms of appearance as possible right now. If the bike is clearly stronger, why not let it stand on its own?

Rook, if A&A Performance could find a place to put the small supercharger in a ZX14 (not as much room as the ZX10 to do it) and you did nothing else, you'd get 245 hp pretty easily.

No other engine modifications required to get that.

If KHI decided to change the frame, or move/change some components (like the gas tank maybe), they could find room to put the supercharger in a better place, like under the throttle bodies possibly. Something A&A can't do.

What is the word about Rickey? Did you see the logo on start up? It shows the signature 4 eyes/lights, then, an outline is drawn around it and poof, up comes the dash. Ya happy they heard you and your, 'gotta look like a 14' not a bluesaha-ha-ha, year funny, Rooksteer. Kawi should blow them away buy a mph either way. I ain't going there is tease the shit out of you roundies.

With ease. just scratching the surface. If new bike did have a super charger set at 3-4 lbs of boost you know the boys will be turning it to 8. Not to mention what they will do if it comes low compression pistons. Na, can't see it.

I've seen 4 headlights, I've seen foreman grills, I've seen a big ass air scoop in the nose... where are you guys seeing Busa cues???? There's really not enough shown on the actual teaser vids to make any real conclusions about the final look once you see the entire package, or maybe it's just me???

I dunno, while that may make it a breeze for adjustability, I really don't care for the look.... Looks like it will more than likely be different in some way, the foreman grills are shaped differently towards the rear...

In new teaser the motor has an external what looks to be oiling line coming up from the oil pump and going into front of motor just under the jugs... or... Perhaps it is an external coolant line to deliver higher pressure coolant directly to the cylinder water jackets? Added bore means thinner cylinder walls if the case wasn't completely redesigned. The line has crimped fittings like a high pressure oiling line but added water jacket flow makes more sense. What you guys think?

Pretty sure it's an oil line. Look where it come off the front of the motor.. right above the oil pressure sender... right?

Looks like oil line to me... Question is why??? SC reality?... or just addressing oiling issues? On pins and needles... Mama Kaw better not let us down.

I certainly see nothing remotely Busaesque. This new bike is gonna be a sweet rendition of the classic 14 we now have. They're not gonna facelift a fine working aerodynamic package like it is now.Thank God they're not.I'm really excited to see the minor upgrades in the styling.Subtle...but virtually unchanged.I mean...IMO....this bike, the 14,is a classic style.I honestly can't see how anyone would find the style ugly.To me...it just looks GREAT.Fast and strong just sitting there. The whole rake of the chassis...the way the frontend kinda dips downwardish and the serious lamps on there. The tail following the lines...upswept,but angled with the style.Smooth but edgy.I LOVE the looks of my bike.Big....strong.Shaped perfect for the biggest sportbike out there.I don't know if I'll get one.Maybe.But my 14 right now is a great reliable strong and stylish bike for me.I mean...EVERYONE takes a second look when they see her.Though I didn't get her for that. But it just happens. This bike...and the new one...will always be better styled and attractive than the Suzuki .

Gotta say...that airbox...it definitely looks like a lighter material...they've done some upgrading to that whole part(chassis as well). At least,it looks like that to me.Something is also different about the slave/clutch cover deal, and the speed sensor.I'm wondering if she doesn't possibly have a cassette type trans goin on?Or maybe they just had to change things up some to accommodate the bigger engine? It looks taller to me,but not wider?

"big hole in the bottom of the airbox"....isn't that supposed to be there? The throttlebodies going under there?IDK...I thought so.

Yeah.. airbox has me pretty curious now too. I am going nuts! I can't even sorta think about getting one until 2012 or so.. but I'll be damned if I don't feel like one is arriving on Oct 10 to my garage.

Blue,

I have to agree with you about the looks of the 14. I shake my head in complete disbelief when I read opinions from people that think the 14 is anywhere from OK looking to ugly.. then site the looks of the Busa as what looks good. I have a friend.. rides a 2007 14 and wouldn't trade it for a Busa.. but says he thinks the Busa ia better looking bike.. arrrrg! WTF? The ZX-14 is just plain sex on 2 wheels. I mean I guess the Busa is ok to look at? well.. no! It looks like a damn cartoon bike. Like a hunk of jello. Sure Jello is tasty.. but it's kinda silly too.

That's kinda what I thought about ANY Busa...the frontend...reminds me of an anime character or something.IDK...Just not for me.Cartoonish...yes...The 14 frontend is totally different.Businesslike.Appropriate for the baddest bike out there.Lots of light.Bigazz air scoop, shaped nicely without being standoutish. In line with the windscreen shape and sides of the upper cowl.Smoothly pointed.Aggressive without being obnoxious!Ya...total uniqueness with the 14.Everything about it says"I'm fast as shi^....lets go roll".

I also think the multicolored zx's are really well done...look at Bigwillie's bike.I mean...it really looks good with the swooping graphics and the color scheme.Like all the decked out 14's from the factory like his.It just LOOKS fast and strong.WAY better looking than the Busa.Mine's kinda plain jane...but I want it that way.I still love the Candy Plasma Blue...the way it changes colors in the light and has a certain 'candy' look to it.It has a way of reminding me...'don't crash me....".Strange,I know.

I think we're seeing at least TWO color options for the new bird. That green is WAY nice. But the red colors at the end there,I think that may be 'another' color as well?Beautiful if they're both those colors.

Naaaa, we would have herd about it. The ZX-10 came out a whole new bike but the GSXR1000 is still the same old heavyweight its been for the last couple years. I think they might just try to hold the line with the Gen2 busa too.

That front nose looks a lot better. Made the eyes more look like eyes. Sharp sounding engine note if that is the sound of the, hold your ears, next genote.

I guess I never really noticed if it had 4 separates,or a hole like the new pic shows.Hmmmm...well,whatever they've done,it IS different.I like the old nose...but yeah...the new one looks very nice.Nice enough to not look "different/worse(?)"...like they did to the busa.Yuck!

I'd say that engine note on the Ricky Vid is the stock(Factory mufflers) new engine.Sounds really good doesn't it Hubster. This is gonna be GOOD!My guess...they won't be your round mufflers this time out.I'd say something along the line of the Brock's CT's.Hexagonal shape maybe. But clearly Kawasaki.Bigger than the Brock's lengthwise anyway.

They've so far shown nothing of the chassis(except the frame)/wheels,bodywork.Would be very cool if they designed some lighter wheels, with maybe the same design?I like the ribbed look of the 14's wheels.I don't see how they can go wrong style-wise IF they keep almost everything about the same. You either like(LOVE) the look or ya don't IMO.
