Hub the ignition coil failures are very common on the K67, typically a matter of swapping out the dead coil, about $234 and you're back in business.
I just had the bad luck when mine failed that it was arcing the secondary back into the primary side which then backwashed the ECU with a high voltage surge taking out the drivers.
I had only one bad coil but decided to proactively change all of them out along with all the sparkplugs which actually looked OK.
It could have been much, much worse, local BMW dealer wanted between $4000-$5000 total parts and labor for new coils, plugs and a new ECU and then a reflash back to the Bren Stage 1 tune.
My local guy provided an exact duplicate of my ECU for $750, including installation of the ECU on the bike and adaptation of the key immobilizer and TFT screen using the GS911 diagnostic tool.
Bren Tune was not affected as he copied my ECU download 1 for 1 to the new ECU, essentially a plug and play solution.
I was thinking what are the odds one of the few guys on the planet capable of doing this crap was 20 minutes away from my home?
