Well, I promise, even though I'm ending my 4 decades PLUS of buying each new flagship rocket from Kawasaki, that the day one gets into my dealer, I will go over and whip out my crying towel and drool all over the floor looking at the 2012 ZX14R.

But the only thing KHI is ever going to sell me again has to weigh less than 500 wet and have over 180 rwhp and has to have real handlebars and forward foot controls from the factory. If they don't sell something like that, I guess thats the end of the run of me having the new one every time one is introduced.

You won't have to drool over anything.There IS no 14.And certainly not one that will top out at over 200 mph,and carve like a 10 .

fwiw, I think this is legit.

I've no doubt khi will release a new ZX14R on 10.10. Their marketing team are deliberately teasing us all, releasing snippets of info here and there. Lack of information leads to speculation and expectation. Their strategy is working, look at the length of this discussion.

I for one am looking forward to the release. This just might be enough for me to trade up early. If they let this long stroke motor produce torque down low (spinning whee from 2000 :) then I'm all in. However if it is lame below 3800 (like current model) then I may just stick with my 08.

Also, on the topic of imposed limits, manufacturers do not have a social conscience, that's our job. Government won't get in the way, these same conversations were going on here in Aus in the 90s when the ZZR1200 came out, local MC press were in a frenzy worried the government would ban/limit production. Nothing happened then or since. I'm not worried about it.

So now I will wait and count down. not long to go now...
