little conversation with Lee Parks
06/24/14 10:23 PM

I got a message today from bg explaining that some guy named Lee Parks was interested in getting ahold of me concerning the use of an image I had posted on zx14ninjaforum. Lee Parks of Total Control, that is. How cool is that? I got to talk to the guy for about 30 minutes about bikes and he sure knows his way around a Mac computer and cameras as well. A real renaissance sort of fella.

There is a second edition of Total Control being published and there will be one of my pics in it. I feel very honored. My hand will be seen by thousands of motorcycle enthusiasts! I'll post areminder when the book comes out but I was so excited about this, I wanted to post immediately.

Congrats Rook! You're moving up. I actually like Total Control better than the Keith Code stuff.

I always thought I had a shot at being a hand model if I could just remove the apelike hair from my arms. My ship has come in! ahhhhaaahahah! Actually, Mr Parks just felt it was simpler to ask for use of this image rather than shoot one of his own. Still, I must ask, are those hands of mine not reminiscent of Michelangelo's statue of David? Now I wish I would have set the tripod up and got both hands in the picture.

How ever I get to be a part of Total Control, it doesn't matter. I just think it is really cool. hey, this could be some mighty fetching resume material.

I thought it was nice he asked for permission, I'm surprised you don't add a watermark your images.

As I've always said, you've put together the best tutorials, we are lucky to have you here.

Now you'll be getting a manicure before each photo shoot.

Me too. For legal reasons, I think its wise to do so with something that has so many hard copy repros. You know, pretty hard to change it after it's printed.

I'm surprised you don't add a watermark your images.

Well, some of them do clearly show my fingerprints.

Now you'll be getting a manicure before each photo shoot.

LOL, you buy the book, I'll sign it! hhaha I get a copy autographed by Lee Parks himself. You aint gettin that one!

haha, Thanks, guys. As for a category devoted to my tutorials, we already have that. Its a sticky in the HOW-TOs section. Actually, that also is a nice feather in my cap because it is an easy thing to point some perspective employers to. Customer service, Tech support, that sort of thing. NOt necessarily MC work but any kind of job that requires explaining how stuff works.

No I don't think it could be. The latest edition of Total Control will be coming out around the end of December.

You ever see a guy in the grocery store and you just can't figure out if it's real or not? I do. I walk right up next to them in the dairy aisle and take a closer peek but I can never tell if it's a wig or just really good, perfectly styled hair. I don't know...is that a good thing?...to have hair so perfect that people wonder if it's fake? I could be one of those guys some day.
