McCruise Cruise Control
07/28/25 3:43 PM

FYI McCruise is now making a cruise control for ZX-14 from 2013 to 2024.[url=https://mccruise.com/product/cruise-control-for-kawasaki-ninja-zx-14r-2013-to-2024-servo/] They also have them for earlier ZX-14's. I did the install myself and it was straight forward. Once I got it installed I got a call from the owners to make sure everything worked out ok. Takes a load off of the right wrist and keeps the bike on the set speed. Here is a pic of the undermount control module.

That would sure make long trips a lot more comfy. Does it deactivate if you apply the brake?

Rook,
It will deactivate if you hit the front brake, back brake, or clutch.

If I could have a touring 14, that would be the first mod after bags. Maybe I'll do it someday.

If you are looking for a non permanent setup for luggage take a look at Kreiga. When traveling I use the 30 liter dry bag flanked by 2 20 liter bags. For daily use I strap a 20 liter dry bag to the back with a Contech tank bag up front.

LeapFrog, allow me to share a word of caution regarding the Kriega 30-liter dry bag... after 3-4 years of use, found that the rubbery layer covering the bag's topside decomposes, becomes sticky and crumbles away
hoping that this was just bad luck and perhaps a production mishap, bought a new same model to replace the old one, because it is indeed a very suitable design for the 14... only to be faced with the same decay issue, sadly

You mean like this?
Kriega currently has ditched the rubbery covering and has replaced with the cordura fabric. With the interior dry bag items are not affected by the deteriorating rubber covering.

I have a cheap helmet that exhibited the same condition after a few years. My GoPro camera also exuded a sticky film. Both only used on the bike about 0.01% of the time. I guess there's high quality plastic and not so high quality plastic.

This tail bag rides all of the time since 2017. Central Florida weather wrinkles the best of us. Kriega has a 10 warranty on their products. I found the receipt for the 30 liter bag but cannot find the receipt for the two twenties. Nonetheless, I have contacted Kriega to see get their response to a warranty replacement.

great to hear that Kriega has eventually switched to a more durable top layer material

LeapFrog, wish you luck with the warranty replacement... had thought about it myself for a while, but would not know where to find my proof of purchase + worried about the shipping hassle from/to Indonesia

Kriega's warranty is legit. I sent them pics of the bags along with an inquiry if they thought this condition would be under warranty. I also told them I could not find the receipt. After a few emails Kriega told me to destroy the outer shell of each bag and that they would send out new product. Not bad eight years after the purchase date.

looking great, thanks LeapFrog for this update!
i may try this free replacement option as well...

in the meantime, for the current Sumatra road trip, had to find a quicker solution and got this Komine tail bag... a rather amazing fit for our bikes, i must say (note: not waterproof, but includes a separate rain cover)

comes in 3 sizes 17/38/59 liters, got the SA-241 model (38 liters, expandable to 56), just perfect for my long distance touring... pic shows the regular bag size, not expanded

used a pair of ROK elastic fasteners tied to the rear saddle knobs, and a pair of recycled Kriega fasteners tied to the side flip hooks... never had such a sturdy combination, absolutely potholes proof!
