Haha I just noticed. There were about 30 people in front of me and where the camera was. Nice crowd around it. Lots of love of course. Felt like a local celebrity. Add me on facebook if you havent already.

LOL, I'm glad you provided that info because I would have been sending a friend request to another Dan. Look for a friend request from Daron Lee Fayas.

Cool beans! So the MaxxECU plugs up to the stock ECU via the Smith adapter. I looked over the various models of MaxxECUs offered and thought I might go for one of the larger ones if it would be any advantage on a bike. Of course, there's the issue of it fitting under the seat so the small MaxECU seems the obvious choice. ...although I long planned to cut out the pillion seat and foam on a ZX-14 to make a very large under seat compartment. Just leave the rear latch on and cut the middle out. I'll try it someday. I'd also like to have a seat cowl that lifts up on a hinge somehow for quick access. Not real sure about messing with fairings on a 200 mph bike though.

Any features you feel you'd like to have that are only offered by the larger MaxxECUs?

...and where will the air compressor go? where the ABS was, I hope! Gotta use that space for something.

All the MaxxEcu's perform roughly the same. The smallest doesn't use an O2 sensor and the models past street and sport get pretty large and I don't think they add much capability to our bikes. In other use-cases they do add value, just not for a 4-banger turbo bike. I'm able to run tons of sensors and stuff off of just the street unit. The sport unit adds Bluetooth connectivity to Android phones. Otherwise no difference. All units perform and log at the same speeds/resolutions.

Air compressor in the battery box would be nice. I might just throw it under my seat where the tool box is supposed to go. My tiger tail gives me a ton of room. Also all the pretty wiring I got is made to go under the seat.

Up to you...I'd consider the battery box. I think you'll feel is humming a bit less than you will under the seat. You can always move it if you want. I really want to see all that space on the LH side of the battery box get used for something sneaky!

Garage is set up now (80% set up)
Couple of things i've been working on-

* Maxx install
* AN6 fuel lines with pressure sensor and ethanol sensor
* deleted IAC system
* swapped my Amazon Brand coil packs for new OEM's
* heat wrapped my gas tank (I am bored and waiting on parts) + (I reinstalled the original shield in addition to the wrap)
* mocked up my air compressor routing to be inside the battery box
* identified a bad connection with my stator/rectifier and soldered the connection(no wonder I had weird battery issues all the time)
* bought a bunch of goodies that are back ordered from Schnitz. You could add coupon codes on top of the black friday discounts... 15% off + free shipping + no tax on my fuel pump = air shifter kit is paid for and then some.

To Do list before I take it to my tuner:

* Install air shifter kit
* Take intercooler to shop to have 1/8 NPT bung welded on for intake temp sensor
* Swap lithium battery back to AGM for the extra protection against voltage sag while running all my electronics
* Figure out where to install ethanol sensor + fuel pressure sensor (larger than imagined)
* Repair broken fairings from idiot neighbors bumping into bike before I had the garage
* Swap rear tire to Q5S or Dragmax or something ready to handle 400-500hp
* Swap rear sprocket to something halfway decent (I have to slip my clutch for so long when street riding)
* Double check my clutch springs are correct (I am seeing a lot of clutch material in my oil changes after about 200 miles. maybe slipping before the lockup engages?)
* pressure test airbox for leaks
* oil change
* winterize cooling system
* clean chain
* clean out swingarm air bottle
* figure out routing for rats nest worth of wires under the seat and in the battery box

Nice new garage!

* heat wrapped my gas tank (I am bored and waiting on parts) + (I reinstalled the original shield in addition to the wrap)

The Gen2 Hayabusa has this stock. I don't believe in the rubber heat blankets the 14 has. ....at least not for a stock bike. The oil cooler is a pile of BS too.

"second time this has happened" ....that was you? I was watching but had no idea it was you. No suggestions, just I wish you well with figuring that out.

* mocked up my air compressor routing to be inside the battery box

This is a good thing! Secret hidden space needs something cool to go in it.

air shifter kit is paid for and then some.

Good. This the kind of auto shifter a 14 was meant to have.

* Repair broken fairings from idiot neighbors bumping into bike before I had the garage

How........................? I don't know the particulars but if this is a person with a drivers license and they back up into your bike while it's parked? I know there can be extenuating circumstances but it you know how to drive, you don't hit a parked vehicle without a hell of a good reason. "Oh that's ok, he has insurance." No you messed up because you don't care or you shouldn't be driving. I know accidents happen once in a blue moon but the person who made a little accident should offer to pay for the damage. You're going to replace fairings, not repair them,

Fairings looked fine as the bike sat parked in my apartment parking lot. When I moved bike into my garage after a few weeks, i took it apart and my rear-left tail fairing had broken off of where the bolts clamp onto it. Someone or something made hard enough contact to crack the plastic. Not sure how... Not happy about it. No cameras to prove who did it and such a large time frame that it could've happened under.

Sunk cost. repair is my best bet. It's not a piece that regularly sees weight/pressure or anything. Going to put plastic JB weld on it and keep my fingers crossed. Maybe drill a few small holes and ziptie or wrap wires through to keep plastics together. Not totally sure what the plan is.

In other news, I am going to put a Stage 1 turbo kit on someone else's bike in the coming months. Should reap a lot of pretty pictures. Someone on the Facebook group mentioned they were looking for a shop to do it... I messaged him and the rest is history.

...If the air compressor ends up not working inside the battery box, I think the next best location is actually under the front ram-air inlet. There are a handful of brackets that are threaded, which I could hard mount the compressor to. Or I could put it where the old air tubes used to go. Couple decent locations it could live happily at.

I had the tail fairing bolts on my Gen1 crack from over-tightening the non-well nut screws. I had an aftermarket ABS fender that did the same thing, no well nuts. Battery box cover on my 08 cracked and I did the same thing to my 2024. If theres not a well nut, use Loctite and tighten it finger tight. I hope this was the problem instead of someone bumping your bike and saying nothing.

Going to put plastic JB weld on it and keep my fingers crossed.

Good luck. Hub suggests E6000 with a thin piece of steel to back it up. A "sacrificial feeler blade," he called it. If these are the bolts that broke the plastic on my 08, that could work as there is a flat spot around each of them that a thin piece of steel would adhere to well. I've found epoxy to be a short term solution even when backed up by a layer of ABS. The fairings vibrate and glue just doesn't hold up for a long time.
