Not sure if anyones made a thread about the 2012 14R. I've been in the hospital so if I missed something then this is old news. I've cut out some of the redundant words from the article.
Besides obvious styling changes, Motorcyclist says:
"Bigger displacement, more power and traction control".
The stroke is stretched from 61 to 65mm to achieve 1441 cc's.
Higher lift cams, polished intake ports and higher compression pistons are said to increase mid and higher rpm power.
Stronger camchain and tensioner.
A new oil jet system to cool the underside of the pistons, thicker crankshaft main journals and beefier connecting rods.
A "slew" of incremental chassis upgrades.
KTRC traction control and ignition-management system from the ZX10.
3 ride modes: full power, medium power and a 3rd mode for wet weather. Up/down toggle on the left hand bar changes the setting and a bar graph on the LCD relays the systems effects.
Slipper clutch.
New forged and machined 10 spoke wheels are 3.3 lbs lighter.
Sounds like they've addressed a lot of stuff.
