Well, that sounds cool for a short ride assessment. Sure does not look comfortable. More race than tour.

The 1299 is definitely built for speed with comfort only as a secondary consideration Hub.

Hubster, this might just be my all time favorite bike, 144 miles as of this morning, brutally quick but super easy peasy to ride. Lovin the new 1299, understand now why this bike has developed such a cult following, you couldn't build this bike today and hope to pass Euro 5 so they moved on to the V4 configuration.

Well Hell, Kruz... I'm going to have to get one then. I'll let the FTS sing awhile. They (duc's) sure perform in GP and WSB, let alone MotoAmerica. That twin engine of the Indian grabbed the vibes in my cochlea at willow springs last year. Love'inn the lift of that exhaust note when slowing down.

Still waiting for Mother Tea to beat my heart for some more speed, however. Shit, some 71yr old is selling his brand new FTS... is saying it's too much for his age. I laughed.

Glad you're loving it.

Hub, this is my second Duc, 959 is OK but the 1299 gaps it in virtually every category including performance, comfort and ease of use. I think the 959 may have been built to a price point and Ducati slipped in the budget components on us.

Hub, check out page 1 of this thread, the new 1299 has just moved into the second spot, past the 2016 ZX-10R and may soon surpass even the mighty BMW S1000RR as new "Top Gun"!

Need honest opinions here folks, was out riding today on the Repsol with the fluro green gear and I got several comments that the bike looks great, the suit looks great but they don't look great together. I like the contrast but apparently I may be in a minority. Rook, Hubster what sayest though gentleman, yay or nay?

It's motorcycle gear mainly meant to prevent injury but if you're being picky about style, of course the suit would work best if the bike had the flouro green in it. Contrast or match is the rule. Blue or purple would look better with the bike than flouro green. The flouro green looks bright yellow on my computer. It's a warm color like the red and orange of the bike but it's not a matching color. It's trying to match but it's not. It's not contrasting either. It has a lot in common colorwise but it's missing the mark. There's no question that plain black and white would work. All black might be the best choice because it matches the bike without competing with the colors. The scheme of the bike is complex so going with a basically one color suit is an obvious solution. A Repsol suit couldn't help but wok but I still think one color with possible some black a/o white flourishes would be better. Give the bike center stage because that Repsol design is a lot to try to stand out against. If you do want to stand out, mainly solid opposite colors: Blue teal, blue-violet. As said, solid black sets you off and it matches the bike at the same time.

The flouro green and black would work well with an all black bike.

You are in the minority on this one, Kruz. Bile green and orange? I don't think so. That's a clash of classic against jazz music, or oil and water not mixing well.

Can't go wrong looking at the colors in a flower. Those do not clash.

Damm guys you are being kinda hard on me, I liked the look because of how bright and eye popping the color contrast was. So far opinions are running about 50/50, some like it and some don't, polarizes opinions for sure.

Should I have McKinley coordinate her shorts next time to match the color of my Ducati?

I think she would look good wearing a burlap bag!

To me, Rossi's use of high viz colors here is more glaring, just my .02s worth...

Dam Hub, I'm 6'3" at 220 lbs in street clothes, just how big are you?

On another note, some people can see all the pictures on my latest thread posts while others including me, see only icons.

What do you think is going on?

I think their newer software isn't liking the old website, maybe.

To me, Rossi's use of high viz colors here is more glaring, just my .02s worth...

On an ordinary looking bike, yeah. His gear fits the look of the bike.

I still think all black or maybe black with minimal white embellishments would be best for the Ducati. Or if you want to be really daring, all red.

Thanks Bill, it's really strange, some folks tell me they are able to view all the posted photos while others say they see a mix of icons and photos.

I've noticed even on my older thread posts this is happening.

Hi John.

It has to do with installing an SSL certificate on the site. Prior to that time (last week or so), images and links to other messages/threads were saved as "http://" and when those try to load in certain browsers in an "https://" page, they don't work properly.

It may take a few days to sort it out.

Thanks for all you contribute to the forum! -bg
